E3 2018: Sony's press conference highlights include The Last of Us Part II and more
Tue, 12th Jun 2018
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Sony revealed a pretty unique press conference this year at E3 2018 by showcasing many of its epic PS4 exclusives coming out soon.  The biggest thing shown today was the first ever gameplay footage for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II. As expected, Ellie is the main character and has grown up over the past four years.  Ellie will have to takedown some hostile human enemies without being seen. The gameplay looks a lot more vicious and brutal compared to the first game. No release window was announced, but the gameplay trailer looks very impressive so far!

Another first gameplay reveal is for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding video game. The graphics are looking very realistic, although it's still hard to understand what the heck is going on in the game. Nevertheless, the new trailer showcases even more Hollywood names that will be starring in the mysterious game. The game includes Norman Reedus, Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner.

One of my favourite reveals today from Sony's press conference is the first gameplay for Ghost of Tsushima. The open world environment is huge as players can traverse the Japanese landscape riding on a horse.  The combat looks fast, responsive and very swift. There will be tons of enemies for you to kill and the game also includes cinematic looking boss fights too. The game is a PS4 exclusive and is expected to be coming out in 2019.

Rounding out Sony's list of PS4 exclusives shown at E3 2018 is another glimpse at Marvel's Spider-Man. In this new trailer, we see some of the bosses that Spider-Man has to face.  The bosses included in the game are Vulture, Electro, Rhino, Scorpion and Mr Negative. The game will be released on worldwide for the PS4 and PS4 Pro console on September 7th, 2018.

In terms of third party video games, it was announced that Resident Evil 2 Remake will be released on January 25th, 2019. A few days after that, Kingdom Hearts 3 launches worldwide on January 29th, 2018. Pirates of the Caribbean has been added as a new world for Sora and friends to visit.  My brother and I are happy because it was also announced at Sony's press conference that Team Ninja will be releasing Nioh 2 sometime in the near future. We managed to get a Platinum trophy for the first Nioh so hopefully the sequel offers us even more fun gameplay.  Another third party game to look out for is Remedy Games' new title called 'Control'.
