Jackery unveils Explorer 300D at Melbourne 4x4 Show

Jackery Australia will launch the Explorer 300D at the Melbourne 4x4 Show and stage a live demonstration with the Antigravity A1 drone.

The Explorer 300D is a new portable power unit positioned between a conventional power bank and a larger portable power station. Visitors will be able to pre-order it at the show ahead of its wider retail release later this year.

The launch forms part of Jackery's largest local display of portable power products, aimed at campers, caravanners, off-grid travellers and outdoor content creators. The event will showcase a broader range of products for different power needs, from smaller personal charging devices to higher-capacity systems for longer trips and larger appliances.

Priced at AUD $299 on an early-bird pre-sale basis at the show, the Explorer 300D weighs 2.5kg and uses a woven 140W USB-C cable as both handle and charging lead. The model is designed for mobile work, multi-device charging and use with equipment such as Starlink Mini.

The unit uses lithium iron phosphate battery cells rated for more than 4,000 cycles while retaining more than 70% capacity. Jackery also said it is up to 64% smaller and 39% lighter than the industry average for AC power stations with similar capacity.

Drone demonstration

Alongside the launch, Jackery plans to demonstrate the Explorer 100 Plus with the Antigravity A1, which Antigravity describes as the world's first all-in-one 8K 360 drone. The demonstration is intended to show how smaller portable power products can support drone flying, remote filming and outdoor content production away from fixed power sources.

The Explorer 100 Plus is a 99Wh portable power station weighing 965g. It can charge up to three devices at once and is suited to drones, cameras, phones, laptops and travel charging.

The show price for the Explorer 100 Plus is AUD $169, down from AUD $229. Antigravity said the A1 includes an integrated 360 camera, 360 stitching technology, Vision Goggles and the Grip Motion Controller, with flight time of about 24 minutes on the standard battery and about 39 minutes on a higher-capacity battery.

Jackery and Antigravity framed the demonstration as a link between portable power and outdoor filming.

"Our collaboration with Antigravity is about bringing portable power and immersive content creation together," said Avis Hung, Regional Marketing Manager ANZ, Jackery. "It shows how Explorer 100 Plus can support creators as they capture outdoor stories beyond fixed power sources."

Antigravity said the A1 is intended to widen the scope for outdoor video capture.

Broader range

Beyond the 300D and the drone pairing, Jackery will also show several other products in its Australian line-up, including the Explorer 600 v2, Explorer 1000 v2, Explorer 1500 Ultra and Explorer 2000 Plus.

The Explorer 600 v2 is positioned as an entry-level power station for weekend camping and essential outdoor devices, with a show price of AUD $549 compared with its original price of AUD $899. The Explorer 1000 v2, aimed at camping, road trips and general backup, will be offered at AUD $749, down from AUD $799.

For more demanding outdoor use, the Explorer 1500 Ultra is listed at AUD $1,599, reduced from AUD $2,299. Jackery describes it as suited to four-wheel-drive travel and harsher outdoor conditions.

At the upper end of the range, the Explorer 2000 Plus will be offered at AUD $2,549, down from AUD $3,599. It is intended for caravanning, extended off-grid use and larger appliances.

Founded in California in 2012, Jackery sells portable power and solar-related products in multiple markets and has been building its presence in Australia. The Melbourne show display reflects a push to broaden its appeal beyond traditional campers and caravanners to users such as mobile workers and content creators who need portable charging away from mains electricity.
