LG showcases smart hotel tech & laundry solutions at NoVacancy
LG Electronics Business Solutions has presented new hospitality technologies at NoVacancy Expo 2025 in Sydney.
The event showcases Australia's hospitality sector, bringing together professionals to examine trends and advancements in hotel and accommodation services. LG's presence focused on addressing two key areas: improving comfort and convenience for guests and delivering operational efficiency for staff and management teams.
Guest experience
A central feature of LG's exhibition was its Smart Hotel TVs with Google Cast integrated into the Pro:Centric platform. These devices, officially approved for the hospitality market in September 2024, are identified as the first hotel televisions worldwide with Google built-in casting capability. The system allows hotel guests to stream their own content - including films, television shows, and playlists - from Android or iOS devices without extra hardware or the need for account logins.
The Pro:Centric cloud back-end gives hotels tools for remote content management. This permits staff to push welcome messages, display in-room dining offers, or post local recommendations on television screens throughout their property. The software aims to streamline operations for hotel teams while supporting a personalised guest environment.
Laundry and residential solutions
LG's commercial laundry line was also on display, designed for both short-term and long-term accommodation providers. These systems are intended to lower operational complexity for operators and offer reliability for everyday hotel requirements.
Residential technologies demonstrated at the expo include the LG Styler and LG WashTower. The LG Styler uses TrueSteam technology to refresh garments, offering guests a service described as similar to a personal valet. According to LG, this feature is intended to add a luxury element for hotels.
The LG WashTower combines a washer and dryer in a single, vertically-integrated unit. The system features AI-powered fabric care to optimise washing and drying performance, addressing both guest convenience in-room and hotel efficiency behind the scenes.
Displays and signage
LG also exhibited commercial displays and signage solutions across a range of hospitality settings, including reception, lobbies, and guest rooms. These screens are designed to present information to guests clearly, serve promotional content, and support the flexible communication needs of different types of accommodation - ranging from premium hotels to short-stay providers.
With hotel groups and independent operators in mind, the displays on show demonstrated the flexibility of LG's digital visual communications systems across varied environments.
Industry perspective
"The technology experience in hospitality is about balancing the guest who wants comfort, convenience and a little wow factor, and the business who needs reliable, efficient solutions to deliver it. LG is committed to making those moments simpler, smarter, and more memorable. We're excited to present our innovative solutions at NoVacancy this year, showing the industry exactly how LG technology can help strike this balance and bring a bit of our Life's Good promise into any engagement with their customers."
This statement was provided by Chris Wilson, General Manager, Information Displays – Media Solutions at LG Electronics ANZ.
Visitors to the expo had the opportunity to experience live demonstrations and discuss the applications of LG's technology for different accommodation formats, with LG's representatives present throughout the event to answer questions relating to integration and operational support.
These product offerings indicate LG's strategy to support hospitality businesses aiming to meet rising guest expectations while keeping operational processes manageable for property owners and staff.
