Reolink launches 4K AI floodlight camera in Australia at AUD $299.99
Reolink has launched the Elite Floodlight WiFi, a dual-lens 4K security camera with locally processed artificial intelligence-powered video search, now available in Australia.
The company states that the Elite Floodlight WiFi is the first floodlight camera to offer local AI Video Search, allowing users to find specific footage using descriptive phrases without transmitting data to the cloud or requiring a subscription service.
According to Reolink, the device is available for purchase via the company's website and Amazon at a retail price of AUD $299.99.
Addressing key pain points
Reolink said the camera's development was informed by user feedback, highlighting common difficulties such as critical events being lost among extensive footage and incidents occurring in areas not covered by typical camera systems.
"Our customers have identified that typical pain points with security cameras can include critical moments getting buried in hours of footage, key events occurring in blind spots, and suspicious activity often drawing no attention – when in fact an immediate response is needed most—especially at night," the company stated.
To address these challenges, the Elite Floodlight WiFi combines a 4K 8MP dual-lens camera with adaptive lighting and local AI tools designed to help users quickly detect, locate, and respond to security events.
Local AI video search
The local AI Video SearchBeta function enables users to search video history with natural language such as "man in a white hoodie" or "black pickup truck," immediately surfacing relevant video clips. Supported search categories include people, vehicles, animals, and packages.
The Elite Floodlight WiFi introduces industry-leading Local AI Video SearchBeta—a smarter, faster way to locate exactly what you're looking for. Instead of searching through hours of footage, users can type phrases like "man in a white hoodie" or "black pickup truck" to instantly find matching events. The system supports search categories including people, vehicles, animals, and even packages.
The company notes that all AI processing is conducted on the device itself, not in the cloud. "This advanced search capability, powered by ReoNeuraTM—Reolink's smart AI system—runs entirely on the device, with no cloud connection or subscription required. It's a private, intuitive way to take control of your footage and respond faster when it matters most," the statement added.
Ultra-wide 4K coverage
With dual-image stitching technology, the camera delivers a seamless 180-degree panoramic view in 4K UHD resolution. Reolink claims this design minimises blind spots and is suited to covering large areas including driveways, yards, and commercial premises.
"Reolink Elite Floodlight WiFi features advanced dual-image stitching technology to deliver a seamless 180° panoramic view in stunning 4K UHD. Designed to cover wide, open areas with a single device, it captures every corner with clarity—making it ideal for driveways, front yards, or commercial spaces where full-scene visibility is critical," the company said.
Adaptive floodlighting
The built-in floodlights can emit up to 3000 lumens of brightness and can be adjusted for different lighting temperatures, from a warm 3000K to a cool 6000K. Lighting and brightness adapt automatically based on time of day or movement, with three operational modes: manual, dusk-to-dawn, and motion-triggered.
"The Elite Floodlight WiFi's built-in floodlights provide up to 3000 lumens of brightness, giving users the flexibility to light up outdoor spaces as needed. Choose a warm 3000K glow for ambiance or a crisp 6000K cool light for enhanced visibility and colour accuracy," the company said.
AI-powered detection and deterrence
The device employs AI to differentiate between people, vehicles, animals, and packages, sending real-time alerts when unusual or suspicious activity is detected. Users can set customised rules, such as monitoring specific areas or triggering alarms if someone lingers in a sensitive location.
"This camera also features AI-powered motion detection that accurately distinguishes between people, vehicles, and animals—reducing false alarms and improving response precision. When activity is detected, users receive real-time app alerts and can trigger customisable warnings, such as sirens or voice messages," Reolink said.
The siren can reach up to 105dB and can be activated alongside lighting either via manual control or automatically in response to AI-identified security threats.
With the launch of the Elite Floodlight WiFi, Reolink aims to provide Australian homes and businesses with locally processed AI security functionality, integrated adaptive lighting, and high-resolution panoramic monitoring without ongoing subscription fees.
