Samsung launches HU8000F Hotel TVs with Google Cast in Australia

Samsung has announced the availability of its HU8000F Hotel TV Series in Australia, offering a range of hospitality-focused smart TVs in six different sizes.

The HU8000F Hotel TV Series is now available in 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch formats, targeting hotels seeking to upgrade guest experiences with new streaming and management features. Central to the series is the integration of Google Cast, which enables guests to mirror or stream content from their personal devices directly onto the TV without the need for dongles or additional login processes.

Guest experience

The new TV series is designed to provide premium viewing quality with 4K resolution, powered by Samsung's Crystal Processor 4K. The inclusion of HDR10+ and Dynamic Crystal Colour aims to deliver lifelike clarity in images, supporting a wide range of content needs typical in hotel environments. The AirSlim form factor has also been developed for hotels, offering a thin, modern profile intended to fit diverse room styles.

Streaming and entertainment

The HU8000F expands the entertainment options available to hotel guests by including streaming services such as Samsung TV Plus, Prime Video, and Netflix. All these options are accessible via a customised interface through Samsung's Tizen OS Home, providing a familiar smart TV experience within the hotel room setting.

To further enhance the viewing experience, Samsung has included adaptive sound technology that analyses audio in real-time and optimises output depending on the type of content playing, whether it be live sports, drama, music, or news.

Management and control

For hotel operators, Samsung is providing several management solutions bundled with the TV series. The HU8000F supports Samsung LYNK Cloud, a platform offering remote TV management and tools for business insights, designed to streamline operations and support targeted promotions. The integration with SmartThings Pro enables hotel staff to offer personalised services in guest rooms, in tandem with a multi-code remote that aims to keep controls interference-free.

Google Cast is embedded directly into the TVs, a feature which allows guests to cast content from compatible Android and iOS devices by simply using their own applications, without separate hardware. Samsung states this can also help reduce costs for hotels and system integrators by removing the need for additional casting devices and freeing up HDMI ports.

The TV series also supports over-the-top (OTT) integration for a wide choice of streaming applications, with Samsung highlighting that these features are available without the need for external logins or dongle solutions.

Practical details for hotels

In terms of hardware and integration, the HU8000F TVs include enterprise and hospitality-specific features: RJ12 connectors for system integration, bathroom speaker support, and LAN output ports for wired networking. Security and device management is handled by Samsung Knox, a platform integrated into the TVs for added protection. The TVs also come with multiple HDMI and USB ports to support varying guest requirements for connectivity.

The product is positioned by Samsung as part of its future-facing approach for hotel businesses, supporting both operational efficiency and in-room guest satisfaction by combining both enterprise-level management features and entertainment capabilities.
