Samsung reveals Galaxy Z Flip7 with AI features & slim design
Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Z Flip7, a compact mobile device combining artificial intelligence features with an expanded edge-to-edge FlexWindow display.
Display and design
The Galaxy Z Flip7 features the largest FlexWindow seen on the series, measuring 4.1 inches diagonally.
This Super AMOLED cover screen delivers an edge-to-edge user experience, supporting direct message input, at-a-glance scheduling, and instant selfie capabilities. The cover screen achieves up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate, which also applies to its 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display.
The device weighs 188 grams and is 13.7mm thick when folded, making it the slimmest Galaxy Z Flip to date. The handset's exterior incorporates Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an Armour Aluminium Frame, with a newly structured FlexHinge for smooth folding.

Performance and battery
The Galaxy Z Flip7 contains a 4,300mAh battery, noted as the largest ever in the series, with an estimated 31 hours of video play time on a single charge.
Driven by a 3nm processor customised for the Galaxy range, it promises improved CPU, GPU, and NPU performance over its predecessor.
Samsung DeX is supported for the first time on the Galaxy Z Flip series, offering users a PC-like workspace when connected to an external display. The device launches with One UI 8 and Android 16 pre-installed.
AI features and usability
The Galaxy Z Flip7 leverages new Galaxy AI capabilities, allowing users to operate several tasks directly from the FlexWindow through voice input, search, and real-time actions. Customisation options on the FlexWindow now include curated wallpapers, emoji, colours, and widgets. These can adapt based on user activities and routines.
Gemini Live, powered by Google, is integrated into the cover screen, enabling users to access search and productivity tools hands-free.
For example, it can pull flight details from Samsung Wallet, set reminders, recommend restaurants, and save information in Samsung Notes. Real-time camera sharing with Gemini Live is also available for contextual assistance such as outfit selection or travel preparation.
The Now Bar provides live updates on app activity, notifications, and third-party app events right on the cover screen.
Now Brief offers tailored daily insights including calendar events, traffic reports, fitness summaries, and content recommendations.
The cover screen's clock display dynamically adapts to maintain visibility alongside chosen wallpapers and images.
Camera system
The rear camera array consists of a 50MP Wide lens and a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens. With Samsung's ProVisual Engine, the camera system delivers optimised images, enhanced night performance, and 10-bit HDR for improved colours and contrast, regardless of conditions. Real-Time Filters, a Zoom Slider, Dual Preview, and AI-powered Portrait Studio features are all available, aiming to facilitate improved selfies and creative portraits directly from the FlexWindow.
Security enhancements
The One UI 8 interface supports the latest Samsung Knox security system and Knox Matrix for device protection.
Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) introduces app-specific encrypted storage within the device's secure memory.
Additionally, post-quantum cryptography is being implemented into Secure Wi-Fi, strengthening the privacy of encrypted wireless connections.
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE variant
A new addition to the foldable line-up is the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. This model features a 6.7-inch main display, 50MP dual camera system, and supports hands-free video capture in Flex Mode.
Its cover screen delivers key notifications and daily updates, with a design available in Black and White.
Availability
The Galaxy Z Flip7 will be sold in Jet-black, Blue Shadow, Coral-red, and Mint (exclusive to online orders) in Australia. Samsung Care+ is also offered for those seeking device and screen replacement services.
