WHOOSH! unveils digital hygiene travel kits in Australia

Wed, 10th Dec 2025

Canadian screen-cleaning brand WHOOSH! has launched a range of travel-sized Digital Hygiene Kits in Australia as international and domestic travel rebounds.

The products target phones, tablets, glasses and in-flight entertainment systems. The company positions them as a way for travellers to keep frequently handled devices clean while on the move.

WHOOSH! develops and manufactures its Screen Shine solution in Canada. The product is used in Apple retail stores for cleaning display devices.

The launch in Australia focuses on travellers who rely on digital devices throughout a journey. These devices now include smartphones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches and airline seat-back screens.

Rising hygiene concerns

The company highlights research that shows mobile devices often carry more bacteria than a toilet seat. Travellers handle phones and tablets many times a day in transit environments.

Passengers frequently touch their devices after handling luggage, passing through security, using public bathrooms or moving through crowded terminals. Each stage introduces contact with shared surfaces.

In-flight entertainment screens are another concern. Many passengers touch the same screens and controls on each flight. Cleaning between flights can be inconsistent.

Glasses and sunglasses also gather smudges and bacteria during travel. This can reduce clarity and comfort, especially on long trips.

Australians are adopting digital boarding passes, mobile wallets and travel apps across airlines and transport networks. This shift increases contact with screens at every stage of the journey.

WHOOSH! frames digital hygiene as part of broader personal hygiene when travelling. The company links cleaner screens with a more hygienic travel environment in planes, airports, hotels, cruise ships and on public transport.

Screen Shine product

Screen Shine is the core cleaning solution in the travel kits. It is formulated for use on modern device screens, including the latest smartphones, tablets, cameras and mirrored sunglasses.

The company states that the product is non-toxic and alcohol-free. It does not contain ammonia or harsh chemicals.

WHOOSH! says the formula removes fingerprints, grime and bacteria. It also claims a fingerprint-resistant effect that helps keep screens cleaner for longer between wipes.

The cleaner is designed to leave a streak-free finish. This feature targets in-flight viewing where smears or residue can reduce screen clarity.

The liquid comes in small spray bottles for travel. These bottles meet international aviation security limits and fit into carry-on luggage, handbags, camera bags or pockets.

Usage scenarios

The Digital Hygiene Kits are aimed at individuals who want a single solution for multiple surfaces. This includes phone and tablet screens, laptop displays and keyboards.

The kits also target glasses and sunglasses, which require products that do not damage coatings on lenses. The same applies to smartwatch displays and fitness tracker screens.

WHOOSH! is promoting the cleaner for in-flight entertainment screens and tray tables. These surfaces are among the most frequently touched points on an aircraft.

Rental car touchscreens form another use case. These are shared between customers and often sit in direct sunlight, which can bake on fingerprints and dust.

According to the company, the formula is suitable for high-end optics and coated glass. It also targets high-resolution displays where harsh cleaners can cause damage over time.

"Millions of Australians are travelling over the holiday season, but very few think about the hygiene of the screens they use constantly during a trip," said Allan Dall, CEO at WHOOSH! Australia. "Whether it is your phone, your glasses or the entertainment screen on a long-haul flight, WHOOSH! provides a safe, simple and convenient way to stay cleaner and healthier while travelling."

Retail and business markets

WHOOSH! sells its Tech-Hygiene range in Australia through its own online store and through Amazon Australia. The range includes different bottle sizes and kit formats.

The company also markets Screen Shine Pro kits for business and institutional use. These kits target hospitality venues, hotels, cruise ships, gyms, schools, aged care facilities and workplaces.

Restaurants and cafés can use the products on shared tablets or ordering screens. Hotels and cruise operators can apply them to in-room tablets, lobby kiosks and digital signage.

Gyms and schools often rely on shared devices and touchscreens. These environments generate high contact rates and frequent device turnover.

Aged care facilities and offices face similar challenges with shared handsets, tablets and terminals. WHOOSH! positions its kits as a regular cleaning option in these settings.

The company continues to expand from its Canadian base into new consumer and commercial markets. It plans further growth in Australia as travel and device usage increase across the country.
