Easy Crypto launches new wallet for Australian investors

Thu, 22nd Aug 2024

Easy Crypto has announced the launch of a new cryptocurrency wallet tailored for Australians who are new to digital currency investment. The Easy Crypto Wallet aims to simplify the process of buying, swapping, holding, and selling cryptocurrencies, addressing the needs of first-time investors.

Paul Quickenden, Chief Commercial Officer at Easy Crypto, highlighted the demand for user-friendly tools in the crypto market. "There are a plethora of wallets and competitors in this space; but most are focused on catering to what the industry calls 'crypto bros' - the experienced crypto core. These wallets are not easy to use; and haven't been designed for beginners who don't want to miss out on the next crypto bull run," he explained.

Originally launched in New Zealand in November 2023, the all-in-one Easy Crypto Wallet includes 50 popular coins and incorporates the latest security and recovery technologies. This expansion into the Australian market is part of Easy Crypto's strategy to cater to the increasing interest in cryptocurrency among everyday Australians, many of whom may be unfamiliar with the technical aspects of crypto investments.

The company's approach aims to demystify the cryptocurrency landscape for newcomers. "Recognising that first time crypto investors want to be able to 'buy' and 'safely store' their crypto with ease and confidence has been key to the new wallet design," Quickenden added. "Every button and function in the Easy Crypto wallet has been road-tested with a range of consumers of all ages, backgrounds, and genders."

To enhance user security, the Easy Crypto Wallet offers advanced safety measures such as multi-party computation (MPC) technology, which helps mitigate risks associated with traditional crypto wallets' seed phrases. "Consumers won't have to worry about losing their wallet access thanks to cutting edge security and recovery features," Quickenden noted.

According to the firm, the demand for crypto wallets is increasing alongside the growing acceptance of digital assets as viable investment options. Data from Polaris Research indicates that the global number of crypto wallet users reached 84.02 million in 2023, up from 76.32 million in 2021.

Easy Crypto has achieved over AUD $2 billion in total sales and believes the new wallet will facilitate a smoother onramp into the crypto space for Australian investors. As Quickenden pointed out, "Easy Crypto believes our new all-in-one wallet will aid a seamless onramp to crypto. Our Easy Crypto wallet puts you in control as customers hold their own coins, not Easy Crypto, so we remove any middlemen and give users complete certainty of where their crypto is."

With the company's existing user base serving as a testament to the wallet's functionality and ease of use, Easy Crypto anticipates that more Australians will embrace cryptocurrency investments. Citing an estimate, the company notes that 1 in 5 Australians currently owns some form of cryptocurrency, with many more expected to join the market in the coming years.

In light of these developments, Easy Crypto aims to support the next wave of crypto-curious investors, helping them to engage with digital assets confidently and securely. "With over 1 million Australians looking to invest in crypto assets in the coming year, Easy Crypto wants to help make this more accessible by actively supporting the next generation of crypto-curious investors to get on board faster and reach that next million sooner," said Quickenden.
