GravaStar launches Mercury K98 Pro keyboard in Australia
Fri, 30th Oct 2026 (Today)
GravaStar has launched the Mercury K98 Pro mechanical keyboard in Australia, its first full-size keyboard in the local market.
The keyboard uses a 98% layout and supports both wireless and wired connections. It offers an 8000 Hz polling rate over USB-C and 2.4 GHz wireless, with response times of 0.1 ms when wired and 0.4 ms when wireless.
The launch expands the brand's product range in Australia, where it is still building its presence. GravaStar is known for gaming peripherals with a cyberpunk-inspired industrial design, and the new model brings that styling to a larger keyboard format.
The Mercury K98 Pro is built around a CNC-machined aluminium alloy chassis with a skeletonised frame. It uses a gasket-mount structure and, according to the company, is also compatible with top-mount builds.
Inside, the device uses GravaStar's UFO Mechanical Linear switches, rated for 70 million keystrokes. A five-layer dampening system includes Poron foam, IXPE switch pads, PET film, a slow-rebound Poron base layer, and silicone fill.
Battery life
Battery capacity is a key point of difference for the launch. The keyboard carries an 8000mAh battery that delivers up to 228 hours of use with lighting disabled, or 19 to 21 hours of typical use with full RGB and ambient lighting enabled.
It also includes tri-mode connectivity through 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.4, and wired USB-C. Users can move between gaming, office, and mobile device setups without changing hardware.
Display and lighting
A 1.65-inch TFT display is built into the keyboard for visual feedback and custom content. The screen has a resolution of 142 by 428 pixels and is configured through a web-based driver that does not require software installation.
Lighting features include per-key RGB backlighting with 19 presets and a music-reactive mode. The keyboard also adds three-side surround underglow and foot-halo ambient lighting designed to extend illumination onto the desk surface.
Users can adjust lighting effects through the same web-based driver, and the keyboard supports three onboard memory profiles for saved settings. This allows custom configurations to remain on the device when it is moved between systems.
The product is priced at AUD $499.99 in Australia and is available through retailer Silk Gear, with wider distribution planned through Scorptec, Centcom, and Amazon.
Yong Huang, Founder & CEO of GravaStar, outlined the company's thinking behind the launch.
"With the Mercury K98 Pro, our goal was to bring the design language and attention to detail GravaStar is known for into a full-size keyboard, while giving users the battery life, responsiveness, and lighting experience they'd expect from a flagship board," said Huang. "The combination of the 8000mAh battery, 8000 Hz polling, smart display, and ambient RGB lighting reflects how we think about building a keyboard around the way people actually use it all day."
