Hisense launches 116-inch Mini-LED TV in Australia at AUD $39,999
Hisense has unveiled its new premium UX TV range for the Australian market, highlighted by a 116-inch RGB Mini-LED TV and a 100-inch RGB Mini-LED TV set for release in September 2025.
The flagship range introduces the largest consumer TV currently available in Australia, with the 116-inch model (116UX) priced at AUD $39,999 and the 100-inch model (100UX) at AUD $22,999. Both televisions utilise RGB Mini-LED technology, enabling extended brightness, contrast, and enhanced colour accuracy.
RGB Mini-LED technology
Hisense's approach marks a departure from conventional Mini-LEDs, which generally use a single white light source with colour filters. The RGB Mini-LED technology applies separate red, green, and blue Mini-LEDs. According to Hisense, this technique delivers superior colour purity and enables the displays to reach up to 95% of the BT.2020 colour gamut benchmark for television screens.
The enhanced light control from RGB Mini-LED technology is intended to provide deeper black levels, more vivid hues, and high peak performance in both dark and bright scenes. The 116UX model features over 10,000 colour dimming zones and a peak brightness of up to 8,000 nits, while the 100UX delivers up to 5,000 nits.
"The 2025 UX Series marks a defining moment in Hisense's legacy of innovation – an uncompromising fusion of scale, sophistication, and next-generation RGB-MiniLED technology. As global leaders in the category, we're proud to deliver the largest consumer-grade TVs ever seen in Australia, designed not just to entertain, but to transform the home into a world-class cinematic destination. With the 116UX and 100UX, we are redefining big-screen luxury for those who demand nothing but the extraordinary," said Kevin Ke, Hisense Group Managing Director for ANZ.
Display and audio features
Both the 116UX and 100UX include the Hi-View AI Engine X, designed to optimise image quality, alongside Dolby Vision certification and AI 4K upscaling. The sets are also IMAX Enhanced certified. Anti-Reflection PRO technology is included to minimise glare in brightly lit rooms, a notable consideration for Australian homes.
The thin design of the range, measuring under 40mm for the 116UX and 37mm for the 100UX, aims to match modern interior aesthetics. The proprietary VIDAA U9 operating system is included to provide smart TV capabilities.
Surround sound system
The 116UX is equipped with a built-in 6.2.2 CineStage X surround sound system, which has been calibrated in partnership with Opéra de Paris and Devialet. The design includes visible side speakers inspired by architectural elements and is intended to deliver a wide surround field. Dolby Atmos and spatial sound architecture further contribute to immersive audio performance, matched to the on-screen content.
According to Hisense, the sound design enables accurate rendering of everything from subtle dialogue to high-energy crowd noise, enhancing the sense of realism in home viewing environments.
Market leadership and availability
Kevin Ke commented on the company's approach to the Australian market and the ambition for the new TVs:
"As the market leaders in big-screen technology, we're incredibly proud to not only introduce ultra-premium, class-leading TV technology to the Australian market, but do so at scale. The collection is testament to our commitment to innovation and continuing to deliver exceptional viewing experiences for our customers," concluded Ke.
The 2025 Hisense UX TV models are expected to be available for purchase in Australia through leading home entertainment retailers from September 2025, priced at AUD $39,999 for the 116UX and AUD $22,999 for the 100UX.
