Samsung Australia has launched its 2026 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, which it describes as its largest all-in-one washer-dryer for the local market.

The appliance combines a 19.5kg washer and a 10kg heat-pump dryer in a single unit and is priced at AUD $4,999. Samsung says the design eliminates the need to move washing between separate machines and is aimed at households that run several loads each week.

The launch expands Samsung's all-in-one laundry range in Australia and follows the earlier release of its 2024 Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo. The new model adds a larger drum, updated wash and dry settings, and revised Bixby voice controls.

Samsung, citing research it commissioned from Pure Profile, says one in three Australians complete three or more loads of laundry a week. The company is positioning the machine for families looking to reduce time spent on routine household tasks.

Cycle times

A headline feature is the Super Speed Wash & Dry setting for small loads. Under test conditions, Samsung says the cycle can complete a full wash-to-dry run in 68 minutes for a 3kg load of mixed cotton and polyester.

The machine also includes AI Wash & Dry +, which uses sensors to assess load weight, identify certain fabric types in smaller loads, and monitor soil levels during a cycle. It then automatically adjusts water, detergent, and cycle settings.

For drying, the appliance uses a hybrid heat pump system and carries a 10-star energy rating for drying performance, while the washer component has a 4.5-star rating. It also includes Auto Open Door+, which opens the door after wash-only cycles and can activate internal airflow to reduce moisture inside the drum.

Energy use

Samsung is also highlighting lower electricity use through AI Energy Mode in the SmartThings app. According to the company, testing on the WD90H19AHS model showed energy-use reductions of up to 20% during washing and up to 10% during drying compared with the same cycles with the mode turned off.

Through SmartThings, users can monitor energy consumption in real time, view an estimated electricity bill, and set alerts if usage rises above selected targets. The machine also supports Home Appliance Remote Management, which Samsung says can help with remote diagnosis of faults and other operating issues.

Another update is Bixby voice control. Samsung says the system now supports more conversational requests, allowing users to ask for a cycle to finish by a certain time or to change a wash setting, such as adding an extra rinse.

Phil Gaut, Director - Consumer Electronics, Samsung Australia, said the product was designed around changing household routines and growing demand for more automation in appliances.

"At Samsung, we're focused on developing intelligent home appliances that respond to the real needs of Australian households," Gaut said.

"Our insights show that a third of Australians complete three or more loads of laundry each week, with washing demands expected to increase during the cooler months. That's why features designed to make everyday life easier are becoming increasingly important, from Auto Open Door+, which helps reduce lingering odours after a wash cycle, to hands-free Bixby voice commands that let users keep managing chores while multitasking, and AI Energy Mode, which can help reduce unnecessary household energy costs.

"The new Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is designed to help ease household pressures by combining fast wash-to-dry cycles, intelligent energy optimisation, and ultra-large capacity in one connected appliance, helping Australians spend less time on laundry and more time doing what they love."

Wider push

The product also includes Flex Auto Dispense, which Samsung says can hold enough detergent for up to 22 loads, as well as BubbleWash, BubbleSoak, and a Less Microfiber Laundry cycle intended to reduce agitation during washing.

On software and security, Samsung says the model is covered by its seven-year software update policy for flagship products released from 2024 onwards, subject to hardware support. The company adds that the machine is protected by Knox security and has received Diamond-level IoT security verification from UL Solutions.

The machine is now available through Samsung's online store and major retailers across Australia at an RRP of AUD $4,999.
