Ultimate Ears unveils EVERBOOM & updates speaker lineup

Ultimate Ears, a brand of Logitech, has unveiled its newest portable speaker, EVERBOOM. The speaker is designed to deliver powerful 360-degree sound and boasts a durable build, making it suitable for a range of activities. The company also announced updates to its WONDERBOOM, BOOM, and MEGABOOM speaker lines, featuring improved acoustics, new colours, and sustainable materials.

Jonah Staw, general manager of Ultimate Ears, said, "Our users have dynamic lives that require a soundtrack as adaptable and resilient as their various activities. EVERBOOM is our answer to their call for a portable speaker that marries robustness with superior sound quality. It's meant to be a core part of their explorations."

The EVERBOOM speaker is engineered for adventure, featuring an IP67 rating that ensures it is waterproof, dustproof, and floatable. The device's oval design, reminiscent of the EPICBOOM, has been optimised for portability while still managing to produce loud and clear sound. It includes precision-tuned drivers for punchy and clear mids and highs, and it delivers deep bass along with distinct vocals.

FOREBOOM features a 55-metre Bluetooth range and can provide up to 20 hours of playtime. It also includes an Outdoor Boost button, designed to enhance sound quality in outdoor settings by delivering more pronounced bass. For convenience, EVERBOOM is equipped with a one-touch NFC feature that allows users to establish a Bluetooth connection quickly with NFC-compatible smartphones running Android 8.0 or later. This feature enables seamless transitions between multiple playlists from different users.

In conjunction with the launch of EVERBOOM, Ultimate Ears has updated its existing range of popular speakers. The fourth-generation WONDERBOOM 4, BOOM 4, and MEGABOOM 4 models now come in new colour options and are made from 100% post-consumer recycled fabric. These models also feature USB-C charging ports. Both the BOOM 4 and MEGABOOM 4 have been enhanced with deeper bass radiators for a bigger sound experience, and they incorporate even more recycled materials than previous iterations. WONDERBOOM 4 now includes a podcast mode for improved clarity when listening to spoken content.

Another notable update is the introduction of the Megaphone feature to the UE | BOOM app. This feature transforms a smartphone and speaker into a megaphone. By tapping the Megaphone button on the app and speaking into their phone, users can project their voice through the speaker. This functionality is designed for scenarios such as calling people to the dance floor or amplifying one's voice in open spaces.

The brand underscores its commitment to sustainability with the introduction of these new models. The plastic components in all the speakers include post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, with at least 31% PCR plastic in WONDERBOOM 4, 52% in BOOM 4, and 54% in MEGABOOM 4. EVERBOOM includes a minimum of 58% PCR plastic. All the featured speakers also incorporate 100% PCR polyester fabric, and the paper packaging is sourced from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources.

Ultimate Ears' new EVERBOOM speaker is priced at AUD $349.95. The updated WONDERBOOM 4, BOOM 4, and MEGABOOM 4 speakers are priced at AUD $149.95, AUD $229.95, and AUD $349.95 respectively, and are available for pre-order in Australia.
