Amber Technology expands smart home solutions with ABB
Amber Technology has announced an expansion of its partnership with ABB to include the ABB-free@home smart home automation solution in its product portfolio.
The addition of ABB-free@home to Amber Technology's offerings is aimed at enhancing the company's services for residential and light commercial installers across Australia. This solution provides intuitive and scalable home automation, which can be applied not only to homes but also to hotels and small businesses.
ABB-free@home is intended to transform residences into smart homes by offering control over various home systems such as blinds, lighting, heating, air conditioning, and door communication. The system allows homeowners to manage these systems through wall switches, laptops, or smartphones, potentially increasing comfort and energy efficiency while reducing costs relative to traditional setups.
The product also holds benefits for light commercial projects, including multi-dwelling units like small condos, duplexes, multiuse properties combining business and residential functions, as well as smaller commercial ventures such as NDIS and aged care residences, small venues, and boutique hotels.
User interaction with all smart home functions can be managed via the ABB-free@home Next app, providing remote access through the myBuildings service. This feature enables users to connect their ABB-free@home systems via the internet, offering the convenience of control from any location. Additionally, this capability provides installers with remote access for system troubleshooting and support, which can enhance user experience.
Christian Schiemann, ABB Business Manager for Building Automation and Home Solutions, explained, "ABB is delighted to extend our partnership with Amber Technology to include the ABB-free@home solution, further enhancing our offering in the residential sector. Amber's expertise and market reach will play a key role in expanding the installer network, making ABB-free@home the smart home solution of choice. We look forward to building on our existing successful collaboration with Amber Technology through the ABB i-bus KNX offering."
Nathan Brady, General Manager of Integrated Solutions at Amber Technology, remarked, "Our residential installation team is thrilled to introduce the ABB-free@home range to our customers, who specialise in residential and light commercial projects. As demand for smart home and small business solutions continues to grow, we see ABB-free@home as an intuitive, future-ready platform that simplifies home automation without compromising functionality. Our partnership with ABB allows us to offer homeowners and installers a sophisticated, scalable solution that integrates seamlessly with modern residential and light commercial environments.
