ASUS launches ExpertBook P5 with advanced AI features

Today

ASUS has announced the release of the ExpertBook P5 (P5405), its first Copilot+ laptop for professional use, designed to support businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

With a focus on AI-powered productivity, long battery life, and robust security features, this new laptop is tailored to meet the demands of professionals looking for efficiency and performance on the go.

Emma Ou, Commercial Regional Head for Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia at ASUS, emphasised the significance of the new P series for the business sector.

"The ExpertBook P5 introduces our new P series, targeting the SMB sector," she stated. "This Copilot+ PC is designed for work and has ASUS AI ExpertMeet, an on-device AI assistant ensuring your data stays on your laptop. With a battery life of up to 28 hours, the ExpertBook P5 is a great choice for professionals and everyday users who need a reliable and efficient laptop. We're thrilled to bring this model to Australia and New Zealand."

The ExpertBook P5 is powered by Intel's latest Core Ultra processor, which incorporates an NPU (Neural Processing Unit) capable of delivering up to 47 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second). This processing capability marks a substantial improvement, reportedly offering up to three times the AI performance of previous models. With this processing power, the ExpertBook P5 aims to boost productivity for users in industries increasingly reliant on AI.

AI-Powered Features Enhance Productivity

The new laptop is equipped with ASUS's proprietary AI ExpertMeet, which uses on-device AI to streamline meetings and secure sensitive data. Designed to improve collaboration, ExpertMeet offers several tools that professionals may find beneficial.

Key features include:

  • AI Meeting Minutes – This feature allows users to record meetings in real-time, providing automated transcripts, translations, and summaries to capture essential points.
  • AI Translation – The translation tool generates subtitles in real-time from audio sources, supporting multilingual communication during meetings.
  • Business Watermark – To secure on-screen shared content, the business watermark tool ensures data protection, fostering trusted partnerships.
  • AI Audio – Users can select from multiple audio modes (single-presenter, multi-presenter, or general) to ensure clarity.
  • AI Camera – The camera offers enhanced visual features, including lighting correction, auto framing, appearance filters, and gaze correction to improve virtual meetings.

Uncompromising Security with ASUS ExpertGuardian

Security is a cornerstone of the ExpertBook P5, as ASUS has equipped the device with ExpertGuardian, a security suite featuring business-grade protection to safeguard confidential data. A crucial aspect of this security setup is the NIST SP 800-155-compliant BIOS, which provides a base-level shield against firmware threats.

In conjunction with Windows 11 Secured-core PC technologies, including TPM, DMA, and DRTM, the laptop creates multiple layers of security to protect software. ASUS is also offering a five-year support plan for BIOS and driver updates, ensuring that users receive ongoing protection from emerging threats.

Additionally, the ExpertBook P5 includes integrated biometric login with FIDO2 authentication, making it easier and safer to log in. As a supplementary measure, users also receive a one-year membership to McAfee+ Premium, which includes features such as AI-powered deepfake detection and phishing protection.

Further enhancing security, the laptop includes an Adaptive Lock feature that recognises when users are away, automatically locking the device to protect against unauthorised access.

"We've worked to build a product that combines speed, battery life, and security to empower businesses," Ou remarked, emphasising the device's suitability for modern professional environments.

Durable, Lightweight Design for Mobile Professionals

Built with a lightweight aluminium chassis, the ExpertBook P5 weighs just 1.29 kg, making it a practical option for professionals who work in dynamic environments. Despite its portability, the laptop meets the stringent US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard, ensuring resilience to environmental stressors such as extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration.

ASUS has also conducted rigorous in-house durability testing on the device, including 120 cm drop tests, hinge cycles, spill resistance tests, and keyboard durability assessments.

Designed for comfort, the laptop's layout includes repositioned I/O ports and expanded mouse area, ideal for professionals who frequently multitask and participate in video calls.

To maintain peak performance over extended periods, the ExpertBook P5 incorporates the ASUS ExpertCool thermal structure, which optimises cooling whether the device lid is open or closed. This feature guarantees consistent performance, even during prolonged usage.

Sustainability and Long Battery Life

With an eye toward sustainability, ASUS designed the ExpertBook P5 to support the circular economy. The laptop includes 10-50% more recycled materials and features a modular design that addresses e-waste reduction. By integrating Circular Transition Indicators (CTI) for performance measurement, ASUS highlights its commitment to creating a sustainable product.

Battery life is another prominent feature, with ASUS claiming up to 28 hours of usage on a single charge. The device also supports fast charging, allowing it to reach 60% battery in under 49 minutes.

ExpertCare Guarantee and Service Options

ASUS is backing the quality of its ExpertBook P5 with the ExpertCare Guarantee. This programme offers users up to AUD $500 in compensation for hardware faults requiring repair within the first year, adding a layer of reassurance for businesses making an investment in the device.

Ou commented on ASUS's commitment to service, stating that the company understands the needs of today's professionals. "We offer hassle-free onsite warranty repairs and extended commercial service options, giving our customers peace of mind," she said.

ASUS has also prioritised serviceability in the ExpertBook P5's design, ensuring easy access to internal components. Administrators can maintain or upgrade the device with only a single tool, streamlining repairs and reducing downtime.
