Belkin launches Infinity Folio case for new iPad mini

Belkin has launched the Infinity Folio case for Apple's new iPad mini, with the accessory now available through Apple retail stores and online in select markets.
In Australia, it is priced at AUD $119.95 and comes in Charcoal and Lunar Rock. Wider retail distribution is planned for later this year.
The launch adds another accessory to the market for Apple's latest iPad mini update, with Belkin positioning the Infinity Folio as a combined case and stand designed specifically for the smaller tablet. It includes a detachable cover that doubles as a stand with multiple viewing angles.
According to the product details, the stand uses a magnetic hinge to hold the device in several positions for video calls, streaming, typing, reading and sketching. Belkin says the hinge has been tested through more than 10,000 cycles.
Design details
The accessory has a frosted translucent polycarbonate back panel that keeps the iPad mini's colour visible while adding protection. Reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane corners are designed to absorb impact, while raised edges protect the display and camera.
Belkin says the case provides all-round protection and is rated for drops of up to 2 metres under MIL-STD-810G testing by independent third-party laboratories. It notes that results may vary in real-world use.
Other features include a magnetic closure that puts the iPad mini to sleep when shut and wakes it when opened, along with a slot for Apple Pencil attachment, pairing and charging. Precisely cut openings provide access to buttons, ports and the camera.
Accessory market
The release highlights how quickly accessory makers move to support new Apple hardware launches, particularly in categories where consumers often buy protection products at the same time as the device itself. Cases and folios remain a significant part of the broader tablet accessories market, especially for premium devices where repair costs can be high.
Belkin has long been one of Apple's more visible third-party accessory brands, with products frequently sold through Apple's own stores. That retail relationship gives brands such as Belkin access to customers at the point of purchase, when demand for complementary items such as cases, chargers and styluses is typically strongest.
The Infinity Folio also reflects a steady trend towards accessories that combine protection with basic productivity functions. For tablet users, a cover that converts into a stand can expand use cases without the bulk of a keyboard case, particularly for a smaller device such as the iPad mini.
Belkin says upright positions are intended for watching video or joining calls, while lower angles are aimed at typing, reading or drawing. The cover can also be attached or detached in seconds, letting users switch between a standard case and a stand setup.
Product positioning
The emphasis on translucency and colour visibility suggests Belkin is targeting users who want to preserve the look of the new iPad mini while adding impact protection. This approach is common in the accessories sector, where buyers often prefer visible device finishes over opaque covers.
At the same time, practical elements such as scratch resistance, magnetic closure and drop protection remain central selling points in a category where buyers often weigh aesthetics against durability. By combining those features in a folio form factor, Belkin is competing in the crowded middle ground between minimal snap-on shells and more expensive keyboard cases.
Belkin sells its products in more than 100 countries and says it has more than 1 billion customers worldwide. The company describes itself as a California-based maker of consumer electronics accessories with a history spanning four decades.
The Infinity Folio is available now through Apple retail stores and Apple's online store in select markets for AUD $119.95.
