Canon unveils Sydney Experience Centre for imaging innovation
Canon has opened its new Experience Centre in Macquarie Park, Sydney, bringing together imaging, printing, and business solutions in a purpose-built facility.
The Experience Centre has been designed with three principal areas intended to cater to the needs of businesses, professionals, and creators. These include two professional studios and a dedicated business experience centre, each focused on showcasing Canon's technology and capabilities.
Studios in action
Studio 1 is set up as a multi-function space suitable for portrait and fashion shoots, product demonstrations, and photography workshops. The studio houses Canon's full range of consumer and professional equipment. During the opening, guests watched a live dance shoot in which the company's photography technology captured expressive movement and rendered it into printed artwork in real time.
Studio 2 offers a specialised environment for broadcast clients, supporting video podcasting and livestreaming. At the opening, a three-piece band gave an acoustic performance while Canon's PTZ and manually operated cameras simultaneously tracked and captured the event. This demonstration was designed to illustrate Canon's support for small production teams across various environments, including broadcast and education.
Business experience
The business experience centre forms the third core area of the facility. This section highlights Canon's capabilities in imaging and printing as well as smart, sustainable business solutions. The displays range from compact desktop printers, multifunctional office devices, and large-format commercial printing units to cloud and digitisation services, offering customers a view of the broad applications for Canon's technology.
In line with Canon's wider innovation strategy, the centre also featured unique projects that extend beyond standard imaging. Launch attendees saw live viewing of the Huntsman Telescope developed by Macquarie University using an array of Canon lenses. The telescope project supports ongoing research into space sustainability. Demonstrations were also held for Canon's latest X-Ray panel technology, reflecting the company's continued investment in imaging for both terrestrial and extraterrestrial applications.
Commitment to customers
"The new Experience Centre provides a space where creators and clients can engage with Canon's full imaging ecosystem firsthand and explore the technologies driving the next generation," Mr Fukushima said. "This is a destination for discovery, where we can deepen the relationships with our customers as we learn, collaborate and pioneer new opportunities together. We are immensely proud to open this facility."
Kotaro Fukushima, Managing Director of Canon Oceania, described the centre as "a testament to the company's commitment to its partners, customers and creators."
Next steps
With the Experience Centre now open, businesses and members of the public can book studio sessions or arrange guided tours to learn more about Canon's suite of offerings. The company anticipated that the facility would act as a venue where customers could "explore the technologies driving the next generation" and collaborate on new ventures.
Canon's expansion in Sydney is supported by its broader presence across the Oceania region, where it is engaged in both consumer and business services spanning finance, digital services, and professional studios. The company maintains ongoing partnerships with academic and commercial organisations to extend its imaging technology to diverse fields, including space research and advanced medical imaging.
