Lenovo unveils ThinkPad X9 series with AI features

Lenovo has launched the ThinkPad X9 Series, which includes the ThinkPad X9 14 and X9 15 Aura Editions, designed as premium business laptops tailored to professionals with high-performance needs.

The new series is powered by Intel Core Ultra processors and the Windows 11 platform, integrating AI-enhanced experiences to cater to the hybrid working model increasingly adopted by users. "ThinkPad X9 offers the ideal toolkit for today's hybrid users who demand high performance, proven reliability, and seamless productivity," according to the company's statement.

Lenovo has focused on an improved design for the ThinkPad X9 range, which merges elegance with functionality. The covers of these laptops are made from 50% recycled aluminium, contributing to their slim profiles and durability. They are engineered to comply with MIL-SPEC 810H standards, indicating their resilience to rigorous use in professional settings. Furthermore, the series introduces an "engine hub" designed for component housing, optimising both cooling and performance.

Connectivity is enhanced with Thunderbolt ports available on both sides of the devices, simplifying attachments to docks, monitors, and USB-C accessories. Easy access to the battery or SSD is provided via the 'D cover', fostering simple serviceability. The existing keyboard design undergoes a modern upgrade, maintaining the classical comfort while integrating a responsive haptic touchpad, which eases navigation.

Emphasising video conferencing capabilities, the ThinkPad X9 is equipped with a communication bar that houses an 8MP camera and dual noise-cancelling microphones. The camera employs a smartphone-quality sensor for improved performance in low light conditions. This, alongside a high-definition OLED display, offers users quality video call experiences and vibrant visual outputs.

With the ThinkPad X9 series, Lenovo targets users who desire devices capable of both professional tasks and personal interests, supporting optimal productivity and style. One of the ThinkPad X9 series' environmental initiatives includes using 50% recycled aluminium for the covers and a 100% recycled cobalt cell battery in a replaceable design. Lenovo also expresses commitment to eco-friendly packaging, utilising FSC-certified materials and reducing plastic usage by incorporating bamboo and sugarcane fibres.

Lenovo AI Now figures prominently in the X9 Series, an advanced AI assistant offering personalised real-time intelligence with data stored and processed locally for privacy. Lenovo AI Now enhances functions with tools for document organisation and multilingual support for German, Spanish, and French, among other capabilities.

Additionally, the Lenovo Aura Edition in the ThinkPad X9 series introduces AI-driven productivity features such as Smart Modes, Smart Share, and Smart Care. Each of these features serves to enhance user interaction, simplify device management, and provide comprehensive customer support.
