Logitech G reveals Racing Series for sim racing fans

Logitech G has announced the launch of its new Racing Series, providing expanded options for sim racing enthusiasts.

The series introduces a range of products including steering wheels, shifters, and a handbrake, designed to allow greater customisation and adaptability across different racing styles. Richard Neville, Head of SIM Product Engineering at Logitech G, stated, "We've heard from numerous sim racers that their setup should mirror the car they're driving, whether it's tackling gravel in a rally car, drifting with burning rubber, or navigating an open-wheeler with precision."

The Racing Series components are developed with the aim of replicating real-world racing experiences, encompassing the essential controls of steering wheels, gear shifters, and handbrakes. Customisation lies at the core of the new series, allowing users to tweak their setup according to their personal driving style and performance needs.

Neville elaborated on the necessity of distinct steering input styles for different types of racing, adding, "Each of these disciplines requires distinct steering input styles to achieve peak performance and the best feel, which is why the steering wheel shapes in these vehicles vary greatly. We developed the RS system specifically for motorsport enthusiasts who want to play their way."

The series ensures compatibility of Racing Series products with the Pro Series and backward compatibility with the G Series through a Logitech G Racing Adapter. This approach seeks to afford flexibility and expand opportunities for sim racers.

Among the products introduced is the Logitech G RS Wheel Hub, engineered for compatibility with PC and console platforms. It is designed to pair seamlessly with any Logitech G Direct Drive Base, accommodating different racing setups and offering a quick-release mechanism for ease of use.

The Logitech G RS Round Wheel is tailored for maintaining control during rapid rotations, featuring materials like high-performance silicone leather and low-carbon aluminium for sustainability and performance.

Another significant addition is the Logitech G RS Shifter & Handbrake, which offers a 2-in-1 mode switching capability through G HUB software, allowing it to function as both a sequential shifter and a handbrake without the need for tools. This product is designed with versatile mounting options for different setups.

The Logitech G RS Track Wheel is engineered to meet the demands of long track races, featuring ergonomically sculpted TPE material and lightweight aluminium, providing both comfort and grip.
