NAD launches Modular Series in Australia, from AUD $1,299
NAD Electronics has launched its Modular Series of ultra-compact, high-performance audio products for the Australian custom installation market.
The Modular Series features three products designed to address the increasing demand for flexible and space-efficient audio solutions in both residential and commercial installations. The products will be available in Australia from July 2025 and are specifically engineered for local integrators.
The series includes the NAD Custom Install (CI) S1 Single Zone Streamer, with a recommended retail price of AUD $1,299, providing a streaming solution intended for reliable music playback. Another product in the range is the NAD CI SA 2-120 BluOS Streaming Amplifier, retailing for AUD $2,099, which integrates BluOS for high-resolution multi-room streaming capabilities. Completing the trio is the NAD CI PA 4-60 4 Channel Power Amplifier, also priced at AUD $1,299, offering modular scalability and efficient power delivery.
The products are designed with a compact 1/3U width by 1U height form factor, which supports efficient use of rack space while maintaining performance. The Modular Series aligns with NAD Electronics' minimalist design philosophy and is intended to cater to both new installations and retrofit projects.
Peter Gibb, CI Product Manager, NAD Electronics, said, "The Modular Series represents a new direction in ultra-compact, scalable solutions designed specifically for custom installers. Rack efficiency and flexibility are combined with the advanced features and premium audio quality that integrators expect from NAD Electronics. This series equips Australian integrators to meet the diverse demands of modern audio projects effectively."
The Modular Series operates within the BluOS ecosystem, which allows high-resolution streaming and multi-zone audio management. BluOS is known for its control options, system stability, and compatibility with major control systems, which is intended to simplify installation and integration for professionals working on custom audio projects.
In addition to the Modular Series, NAD Electronics has updated its line of CI digital signal processing (DSP) amplifiers. The CI 8-150 DSP, CI 8-120 DSP, and CI 16-60 DSP now feature an intuitive dashboard for remote monitoring, as well as simplified channel grouping, zone-specific sleep functions, and global input flexibility. The updates also include enhanced DSP functions with integrated limiters, delays, and phase controls dedicated to subwoofer integration.
The DSP amplifier improvements encompass a streamlined layout, optimised power management systems, password protection, quicker start-up times, and more robust third-party application programming interface (API) support for remote management. These changes are aimed at increasing reliability and management capability for integrators deploying NAD Electronics' products in the field.
According to market data referenced by NAD Electronics, the number of internet-connected devices per Australian household is forecast to reach 33.8 in 2025, reflecting growing market interest in connected home and audio solutions. The Modular Series seeks to meet this demand with high-quality audio, compatibility, and adaptability for a range of installation scenarios.
The key features of the Modular Series, as outlined by the company, include a compact rack-mountable form factor, BluOS compatibility for multi-zone streaming, integration flexibility, efficient installation options, an accessible user interface, and advanced DSP features for precise audio management in compatible devices.
NAD Electronics states that technical details on the Modular Series and its updated DSP amplifier range will be available at a later stage.
