Rithum has launched the Rithum Home app for iOS and Android, giving users of Rithum installations remote control of heating, cooling and hot water.

The launch also includes My Rithum, a new client platform for system handover, backup and restore.

The new mobile app mirrors the interface used on Rithum Stat wall-mounted controls. Each zone managed by the system appears with its own temperature setpoint and seven-day schedule, allowing users to adjust settings room by room from a phone.

Property-wide modes including Home, Away and Holiday are included, but each can be configured differently for individual zones. That means a household can turn off heating in one room, pause a schedule in another and maintain normal settings in a third.

Scheduling continues to run on the Switch device rather than through a cloud service, so local heating control remains available even during an internet outage.

The app was developed in response to demand from installers whose customers increasingly expect smartphone access as a standard feature. It does not require extra hardware and uses the same interface customers already see on the wall unit.

"Every client asks for an app, and until now the honest answer was either no or a second system alongside the one you have just installed," said Ryan Ovens, Founder and CEO of Rithum.

"This is the Rithum Switch in your pocket, and it is included. The room still runs from the wall, as it always has - the app is simply for the times you are not standing in front of it," Ovens said.

Client access

Alongside the app, My Rithum introduces a client-facing layer to the company's existing installer workflow. Specification, configuration and job management remain in the Rithum Project Portal, while the new platform is designed for homeowners after installation is complete.

Under this model, an installer sends an invitation to the client, who can then add the installed Switches to a personal account. Homeowners can make adjustments themselves, while the installer retains an ongoing relationship with the system.

The platform also adds backup and restore functions. A Switch configuration can be saved and reapplied either to the same unit or to a replacement device, reducing the work required during warranty exchanges.

Saved configurations can also be reused as templates for other rooms, giving installers a way to begin a new setup from an existing configuration rather than starting from scratch each time.

Subscription model

My Rithum is available to all Rithum owners at no charge for device status, remote restart and over-the-air firmware updates. A paid subscription is also available for functions that depend on cloud access, including configuration backup, remote configuration changes, extended warranty and upgrade credit for future hardware.

Subscription plans are charged per Switch, with the price per unit falling as the number of installed devices increases. The standard warranty can be extended to as much as four years and the enhanced version to as much as five years.

The company makes a wall touchscreen intended to replace several in-home control points, including light switches, thermostats, door entry panels and keypads. Its products also support control of lighting, heating, intercoms, cameras, audio and blinds from the wall unit or the mobile app.

According to Rithum, each unit contains its own processor, removing the need for a separate hub or rack-based controller. It supports installers and distributors in more than 20 countries.

The mobile app is launching initially with Rithum Stat control, with additional functions due to follow. My Rithum is now available to existing owners as the company expands the software around its installed hardware base.
