Yesterday

Samsung Electronics has unveiled three new smartphones in its Galaxy A series, namely the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G, marking a shift towards enhanced mobile artificial intelligence for consumers worldwide.

The introduction of the Awesome Intelligence suite, unique to these models, represents Samsung's efforts to make AI features more accessible through its Galaxy A series. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, stated, "The new Galaxy A series marks an important step in our mission of AI for all, by opening Galaxy's incredible mobile AI experiences to even more people around the world. With these awesome new features and capabilities, we are excited to unlock limitless creativity on the Galaxy A series while ensuring a safe, reliable and fun mobile experience."

The new smartphones offer a variety of AI-powered tools aimed at enhancing search capabilities, music discovery, and photo editing. Powered by One UI 7, the latest improvements include a faster and more context-aware search function that can now recognise phone numbers and email addresses directly from the phone's screen. In addition to this, users can utilise the Song Search function to identify music playing in their vicinity or even derive a tune from their own singing or humming.

Camera enhancements are a highlight of this release, with a 50MP triple-camera system featured across all three models. The Galaxy A56 5G stands out with its Best Face feature, enabling users to create the ideal group photo by selecting the best expressions from up to five people. The Nightography feature on the Galaxy A56 5G also sees improvements with a Low Noise Mode for enhanced selfies and better low-light photography.

All three models include the Object Eraser tool, allowing users to remove undesired elements from their photos. Also available is a creative Filters function for customising images by applying styles from existing photos.

Samsung has committed to long-term software support with these devices, promising up to six generations of Android OS and One UI updates alongside six years of security updates. The displays on the Galaxy A56 5G and Galaxy A36 5G are enhanced, featuring 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screens that promise improved brightness and viewing experiences.

Battery life remains a focus, with all models containing a 5,000mAh battery and support for 45W charging on the higher-tier models, reinforced by advanced chipsets to support demanding applications and multitasking. The Galaxy A56 5G is powered by the Exynos 1580 processor, while the Galaxy A36 5G uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform.

The durability of the new Galaxy A models is improved, as they now feature an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, a first for the Galaxy A26 5G. This is coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass for added protection against damage.

Security and privacy are furthered through Samsung Knox Vault, which provides an additional layer of defence for sensitive data. The Galaxy A56 5G will also be available in an Enterprise Edition, catering to businesses that require extensive security features and longer-term software support.

The Galaxy A series will be available in a variety of colours. The Galaxy A56 5G comes in Awesome Lightgrey, Awesome Graphite, and Awesome Pink. The Galaxy A36 5G offers options in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Black, and Awesome Lime, while the Galaxy A26 5G will be available in Black, Mint, and Peach Pink.
