Unihack 2025 returns with support from Logitech Australia

Yesterday

Australia's largest student hackathon, Unihack, is set to return for its 12th iteration from 14-16 March 2025, featuring a major sponsorship from Logitech Australia.

Unihack 2025 is expected to bring together 600 students from across Australia and New Zealand, marking its largest event to date. The 48-hour hybrid competition invites teams to design, develop, and present a working prototype in a format of their choosing, including websites, mobile applications, video games, or hardware solutions. The key requirement for participants is that their prototype must be functional upon presentation.

"Unihack is a non-profit organisation driven entirely by dedicated volunteers. Each year, we welcome tertiary students from across ANZ to take part in the competition, providing them with a dynamic and supportive environment to explore their potential alongside their peers," said Terence Huynh, Sponsorship Lead at Unihack.

The hackathon has a history of propelling former participants into successful careers at top tech companies such as Meta, Canva, AWS, and Google. Last year alone saw 447 students from 18 different universities participate in the event.

Huynh further commented on the importance of the partnership with Logitech: "Unihack is more than just a competition, it's a dynamic platform that empowers students to apply their skills beyond the classroom. Logitech's support is instrumental in elevating this experience, enabling us to uncover the brightest young tech talent in the region."

Logitech, known for its multi-brand technology offerings, views Unihack as a strategic opportunity to engage with future industry leaders in the tech sector. "Logitech is committed to identifying and supporting future industry leaders. Through Unihack, we can engage with some of the brightest minds and provide them with the tools they need to turn their ideas into reality," stated Marisol Vargas, Senior Cluster Category Manager at Logitech ANZ.

Following the hackathon event, Logitech will host the Logitech MX Workshop on 17 March 2025, which will be located at Monash University, Monash IT Club, the same venue as Unihack. The workshop is designed to give students a comprehensive experience with Logitech's MX Series, aimed at boosting productivity and creativity with professional-grade tools.

Both Unihack and Logitech express a unified commitment to nurturing upcoming talent across various technical disciplines. The hackathon is dedicated to fostering problem-solving skills, creativity, and collaboration among students, aligning with Logitech's mission to enhance human potential in work and leisure contexts.
