VeVe expands into physical art with HAZARD: ODDY launch

Fri, 7th Mar 2025

VeVe has opened its digital collectibles platform to include physical art with the launch of the HAZARD: ODDY series in collaboration with renowned Korean artist Jonghun Ha.

The partnership marks a significant expansion for VeVe, which aims to bridge the gap between physical and digital art through blockchain-backed technology. The HAZARD: ODDY series brings Jonghun Ha's art to the digital realm, offering collectors a fresh way to experience and own the artist's work.

The HAZARD series, created by Ha's studio Hands In Factory, is a reflection of modern life's struggles with themes of resilience and individuality. The ODDY character, which is part of the Shopper Series, symbolises self-discovery through personal space and adornment.

Ben Rose, Co-CEO of VeVe, remarked, "We are thrilled to welcome Jonghun Ha and his innovative HAZARD series to VeVe. Bringing these incredible art collectibles into the digital space allows collectors worldwide to own a piece of Hands In Factory's vision and enjoy it in augmented and virtual reality. This is an exciting step in expanding our platform's commitment to showcasing diverse and popular artistic talent and we are particularly excited to add a creator from the vibrant Korean market."

The ODDY series includes six digital collectibles, each with unique aesthetic and thematic inspirations, such as ODDY ver. Original, inspired by the adaptable Desert Horned Viper, and ODDY ver. VeVe, featuring a blue VeVe T-shirt to symbolise the collaboration. Each version reflects different aspects of adaptability and identity.

Jonghun Ha expressed, "Bringing HAZARD into the digital space is a natural evolution for the series. ODDY is all about change and adaptability, and this move lets us explore those ideas in a fresh way. It's our first step into digital art, but it feels like a natural extension of what our art has always been about - growth, change, and reimagining what's possible. It's a chance to rethink how art is experienced and collected in a rapidly shifting world."

The launch introduces a "phygital" element, combining physical and digital aspects. A limited edition of 25 signed canvas prints by Jonghun Ha will be available to collectors who acquire 'Special Common' editions from the VeVe store.

This expansion is part of VeVe's broader mission to make high-end art accessible to global audiences by integrating traditional art with digital platforms. The HAZARD: ODDY series will be exclusively available on VeVe, where collectors can purchase, sell, and display their digital assets using the platform's app.
