AI-powered robot pool cleaner makes Australian market debut
Beatbot has introduced its AI-powered pool-cleaning robot to the Australian market, aiming to change the way people approach pool maintenance with its AquaSense range. The launch brings the second-generation AquaSense 2 Ultra model, the first pool-cleaning robot globally using artificial intelligence for a range of advanced tasks, to local consumers.
Five-in-one functionality
The AquaSense 2 Ultra features five cleaning modes. The device can climb pool walls, clean waterlines, skim the surface, map the pool, and dock on the water. These features are supported by 27 high-precision sensors, including an AI camera, allowing the robot to target and remove debris across all pool surfaces.
The developer reports that its software uses a quad-core processor and an AI-based vision system, enabling navigation through pools with complex structures and irregular shapes. According to Beatbot, these technical attributes allow the robot to address challenging cleaning tasks that have traditionally required manual intervention or multiple devices.
Australian entry
The addition of the Australian business division follows reported strong uptake in the United States, where Beatbot says it sold more than 50,000 units of its first model within 12 months. According to the company, this captured 85% of the online high-end pool segment in that market.
Rob Bell, Managing Director of Beatbot Australia, said the launch brings a new approach to pool care for local owners.
"Beatbot is so much more than just a pool cleaner, it's a cordless, smart, efficient AI robot that is engineered for effortless performance. It is going to blow the minds of pool owners who are sick of spending too much time maintaining their pool and not enough time enjoying it," said Rob Bell, Managing Director, Beatbot Australia.
Bell said the development team's emphasis on research and engineering has led to a product capable of handling all aspects of pool cleaning. "At the cutting edge of AI robotics, Beatbot blows its predecessors and competitors out of the water with its intelligent design, AI-powered cleaning, and premium performance. Beatbot redefines what pool owners can expect from robotic cleaning in their pool. It's a case of set and forget and never again dive into a dirty, leaf-littered pool," said Bell.
Product background
Wang Shengle, a pool owner with experience in robotic vacuum development, created Beatbot. Shengle led a team of engineers, designers, and researchers to create the brand's five-in-one cleaning system after identifying a gap for a pool robot that could address surface and waterline cleaning as well as the pool floor and walls.
The company has focused on research, with over 60% of its workforce dedicated to R&D. Beatbot holds more than 260 patents, including over 150 for inventions, covering core technologies such as brushless water pumps, autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) locomotion, and AI-based spatial mapping algorithms.
Beatbot's Australian sales will be supported through local retail outlets and direct shipping to consumers nationwide.
