Aqara launches Matter-certified Camera Hub G350 in Australia

Thu, 16th Apr 2026

Aqara has launched the Camera Hub G350 in Australia, describing it as the world's first Matter-certified camera.

The device combines an indoor security camera, Zigbee hub, Matter Controller, and Matter bridge in a single unit. It is designed to work with Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings.

The G350 is priced at AUD $269 in Australia, with Aqara positioning it as a central device for households using more than one smart home platform.

Camera and Hub

The G350 features a dual-lens system with a 4K wide-angle camera and a 2.5K telephoto lens. It also offers up to 9x hybrid zoom and a pan-tilt function that provides 360-degree coverage inside the home.

The camera supports live view, two-way audio and alerts within Matter-enabled ecosystems. Its hub function allows Aqara accessories and third-party devices to operate within one system.

The device also uses on-device intelligence for event and sound detection, and can automatically track people and pets to keep them in frame.

Privacy Focus

Privacy is a central part of the product. The G350 supports local microSD storage up to 512GB, NAS backup, and encrypted cloud storage via Aqara HomeGuardian.

When the camera is turned off, the lens rotates upwards and is physically hidden within the device, giving users a visible indication that recording has stopped.

The release reflects a wider push by smart home suppliers to make devices work across rival ecosystems rather than tie customers to a single platform. Matter, the interoperability standard backed by major technology groups, has become a focal point of that effort.

In Australia, the launch adds to Aqara's product range, which spans more than 30 categories. The company says it serves more than 12 million users across five continents.

The G350 enters a smart home market where cameras are increasingly expected to do more than provide video monitoring. Suppliers have been adding hub functions, local processing and broader compatibility as buyers seek fewer standalone devices and more control over where data is stored.

Aqara says the G350 is designed to let users manage home security through the ecosystems they already use. The product also supports Apple HomeKit Secure Video within Apple Home.

The camera's arrival in Australia gives Aqara a new product in a category where interoperability and privacy have become key selling points.
