Bose launches modular Lifestyle home audio collection

Bose has launched the Lifestyle Collection, a new modular home audio range comprising a speaker, soundbar and subwoofer.
The products can be used individually or combined into larger systems, from a single smart speaker to a 7.1.4 multichannel home theatre setup.
The range includes the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Speaker for AUD $549.95, the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar for AUD $1,799.95, and the Bose Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer for AUD $1,299.95. The collection will be available in Black and White Smoke.
The launch marks a fresh push into home entertainment, as buyers weigh simpler wireless systems against more complex separates and custom installations. Bose is positioning the range around easy setup and the ability to expand a system over time.
Modular approach
The Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is designed for rooms such as bedrooms, kitchens and home offices, and can also be paired in stereo. It uses a three-driver arrangement with two front-facing drivers and one up-firing driver to widen the sound field from a single unit.
For television and film viewing, the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar is positioned as either a standalone option or the centre of a larger surround system. It features six full-range drivers, a centre tweeter and two PhaseGuide drivers, and supports Dolby Atmos.
Users can add the Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer and two Lifestyle Ultra Speakers to create a fuller home cinema setup. The subwoofer is intended to handle lower frequencies, allowing the rest of the system to focus on mid and high ranges.
The collection supports common streaming standards used in mixed-brand households. It works over Wi-Fi and supports Google Cast, Apple AirPlay and Spotify Connect, while Bluetooth is included for direct playback from compatible devices.
Devices in the range can also be grouped for multiroom listening, including with speakers from other manufacturers, through Google Home or Apple AirPlay. That interoperability may appeal to buyers who do not want to replace existing products when adding new ones.
Setup focus
An updated Bose app sits at the centre of setup and control, offering guided installation, Wi-Fi credential sharing, and access to controls for volume, source selection, equalisation, surround and height settings.
The products also support voice control, including built-in Alexa, while some functions can be managed through on-device buttons or a compatible television remote. That puts Bose in line with rivals aiming to reduce reliance on proprietary remotes and dedicated control systems.
The soundbar uses CustomTune room calibration, which analyses a room using an iOS or Android microphone reference point and adjusts playback accordingly. SpeechClarity processing is also included to isolate and enhance dialogue, with adjustable levels.
Across the collection, Bose is using several of its existing branded audio technologies, including TrueSpatial, CleanBass and QuietPort acoustic design. These are intended to improve bass response, sound placement and the sense of height in both music and film content.
Home audio heritage
Bose linked the new range to its longer history in home audio, including the original Lifestyle systems and the Wave radio. Those earlier products helped establish the company with buyers seeking compact systems that were easier to live with than traditional hi-fi stacks.
The latest launch comes as the home audio market continues to split between premium soundbars, wireless speakers and broader smart home ecosystems. Manufacturers are increasingly focusing on products that can serve several roles at once, from casual music listening to television sound and multiroom playback.
Raza Haider, President, Premium Consumer Audio at Bose, said the range was designed to make high-quality sound easier to enjoy.
"With the Lifestyle Collection, we wanted every detail to serve a singular purpose: making exceptional sound easy to enjoy," Haider said.
"The flexibility, refined aesthetic, and experience are all built to fit into life at home, delivering on the one central promise that has defined Bose for decades: that sound matters."
