CoverMe Fitness app launches to support Aussie gyms

Mon, 25th Nov 2024

CoverMe Fitness has launched its staff management and cover solution app in Australia, aiming to connect qualified fitness professionals with local clubs and studios.

The CoverMe app is designed specifically for the fitness industry, facilitating studio management by assisting clubs with managing and rewarding staff, and recruiting new talent to enhance the quality of fitness sessions provided to members. The app aims to offer a first-class member experience.

Chelsea Clifford has been appointed as Vice President of Sales for Australia & New Zealand. Clifford brings a wealth of experience, having owned a women's strength and conditioning gym in New South Wales for a decade. With a background as a registered nurse, she has 20 years of experience in health, fitness, and business, extending most recently into product development. Clifford continues to coach at her local gym.

Speaking on her new role, Clifford stated: "Exercise as medicine is a core value of mine and my career reflects that. My passion is to support everyday Aussies to improve their health via exercise, and fitness professionals are key to this. I want to help group fitness and operational managers navigate their staffing challenges so we can keep the right people in our industry, with the volume of work they need to build successful careers."

Clifford added, "For too long the fitness industry has been a part-time/side-hustle job for the majority. CoverMe helps to create more employment opportunities in venues to keep the best professionals where they should be— in front of clients working their magic. It's what really excites me about the brand. This concept and technology hasn't been seen on this scale in this country; Australia and New Zealand has everything to gain from CoverMe."

The CoverMe app is utilised by global fitness brands such as Virgin Active and Fitness First, aiming to streamline staff management and aid fitness professionals in advancing their careers and increasing their income. The application has been adopted by 3,600 fitness clubs and venues, boasting a 100% retention rate and a 97% class cover record.

Originating in the UK, the CoverMe app has recently launched in the United States in collaboration with the IDEA Health & Fitness Association. The app continues to expand, now offering its services to Australian fitness centres.
