Fujifilm Australia boosts binoculars warranty to ten years
Fujifilm Australia has introduced a new warranty scheme for its Fujinon binoculars range, aiming to provide customers with longer-term protection for their products. The new offering covers three years for non-optical components and ten years for optical elements.
Warranty details
The new warranty provides three years of cover for components such as the focus mechanism, the Techno-Stabi image stabilisation system and electrical elements including circuit boards, gyro sensors and central processing units. Optical components, such as lens elements, optical coating integrity, and lens fogging, are now protected for ten years from purchase.
The warranty is available on all Fujinon binoculars purchased in Australia from Fujifilm Australia or an authorised Fujifilm Australia distributor, dealer, or retailer, with coverage applying to eligible products purchased from the start of October 2025.
Customer expectations
Fujifilm Australia research indicates many Australian consumers expect only two to three years of warranty as standard with binoculars. The revised warranty terms extend beyond these typical expectations in the market, particularly for the optical elements, which are covered for a decade.
Wildlife and birdwatching
The warranty update comes amid rising interest in birdwatching and wildlife-related hobbies across Australia. Spending on birdwatching-related travel has increased both locally and for Australians travelling abroad. Australia's biodiversity includes the second-highest number of endemic bird species globally, contributing to continuing demand for optical equipment among enthusiasts.
Company commitment
"We're proud to announce a major upgrade to our voluntary binocular warranty, now including coverage on optical components to 10 years. This change reinforces our long-term commitment to our customers - we want them to explore with confidence, knowing we stand behind every product we offer. This is part of our ongoing mission to deliver not just exceptional image quality, but exceptional peace of mind," said Shaun Mah, General Manager of the Electronic Imaging Optical Devices Division, Fujifilm Australia.
