GENERAL Australia installs ducted air con at House 18

GENERAL Australia has installed two ducted air-conditioning systems at Three Birds Renovations' House 18, Maison Soleil, as part of the companies' ongoing partnership.

Located on Sydney's North Shore, the French-inspired home was designed for a family of five. The renovation centres on open-plan living, indoor-outdoor flow, and practical spaces for family life.

Air Forced Air, a partner of the brand, supplied and installed two R32 ducted systems: the ARTH60KHTA High Static Single Phase model, with 15.5 kW rated cooling capacity and 18.0 kW rated heating capacity; and the ARTH90KHTA-3PH Large Capacity High Static Three Phase model, with 22.4 kW rated cooling capacity and 25.0 kW rated heating capacity.

Both systems are designed for zone control, allowing conditioned air to be directed to selected parts of the home. The installation also includes the anywAiR Technology Ducted Controller, a wall-mounted touchscreen that combines air-conditioning and zone management, with Wi-Fi connectivity for compatible smart devices.

Home project

The House 18 installation is part of a broader marketing partnership between GENERAL Australia and Three Birds Renovations, a renovation and home design brand with an audience of homeowners and renovators. The project is intended to show how ducted air conditioning can be integrated into a residential renovation without dominating the home's design.

Head of Marketing and Communications for GENERAL Australia and New Zealand Zdenka Micallef said the project reflects how climate control is increasingly being built into renovation planning rather than treated as a separate add-on.

“House 18 is a great opportunity to show how air conditioning can form part of a thoughtfully designed family home without taking away from the overall aesthetic. GENERAL Australia's involvement with Three Birds lets us demonstrate the role that ducted systems and smart controls can play in creating comfortable, practical spaces for everyday Australian living,” Micallef said.

She also linked the system choices to the needs of the family living in the house.

“Maison Soleil has been designed around how this family lives, entertains, and spends time together. Working with Air Forced Air, we've been able to support that vision with two ducted systems selected for the home and smart control technology that gives the family more flexibility over their comfort,” Micallef said.

Discount programme

Alongside the House 18 announcement, GENERAL Australia has extended its involvement in the Three Birds Dream Discount Card programme until 31 July 2027. The scheme connects homeowners and renovators with offers from participating home and renovation brands.

Eligible cardholders will continue to receive savings on selected air conditioners, subject to promotional terms. The move broadens the relationship beyond a single showcase project and ties it to a consumer-facing offer aimed at people investing in home upgrades.

For air-conditioning suppliers, renovation partnerships have become one route into a market where heating, cooling, and smart-home systems are increasingly considered earlier in the design process. Ducted systems in particular are often positioned for homeowners seeking less visible installations across larger homes with multiple living zones.

GENERAL Australia, formerly known as Fujitsu General Australia, is part of GENERAL Inc. The business sells residential and commercial air-conditioning systems in Australia and New Zealand.

Micallef said the extended discount card arrangement is intended to support homeowners planning renovation work.

“Extending GENERAL Australia's participation in the Dream Discount Card program is another way we can support people who are investing in their homes,” Micallef said.

“Together, the House 18 project and the Dream Discount Card partnership let us connect design inspiration with practical ways for homeowners to consider comfort, energy efficiency, and smart climate control as part of their renovation plans,” she said.
