Hands-on Review: Oppo Watch X2 combines sleek style with comfort
Every so often a smartwatch comes along that feels just right on the wrist.
For me, the Oppo Watch X2 has been one of those rare finds.

Design and Comfort
The Oppo Watch X2 doesn't try to reinvent the wheel - it simply perfects it.
While many rivals, like the Apple Watch, go with a squarish design, Oppo has leaned into a classic round body that looks and feels like a traditional timepiece. Personally, I find it far more elegant, and the Lava Black version I tested practically melted into my wrist - minimal, understated, and effortlessly stylish.
The stainless steel frame and titanium bezel give it reassuring weight without tipping into bulkiness.
At just under 82g with strap, it sits snugly and comfortably, whether I was running errands, exercising, or simply wearing it at my desk. Unlike some chunkier watches, it doesn't snag against sleeves or feel intrusive in bed, which is a win for overnight tracking.
The 1.5-inch AMOLED display is a joy to glance at - sharp, vivid and easy to read in all conditions.
Outdoors, it remains legible even in direct sun, and the promised software update enabling up to 2,200 nits brightness should only make it better. It's the kind of display that makes watch faces pop and health data feel clear at a glance.
Features and Performance
Oppo's take on Wear OS is both polished and practical. With the OHealth app, I could track an impressive breadth of health metrics - heart rate, SpO2, sleep quality, even arterial stiffness - while still enjoying the full flexibility of Google's smartwatch platform.
Workouts are a clear highlight.
With over 100 modes, the Watch X2 adapts to everything from a run to a tennis match, logging detailed stats such as stride length, swim stroke count, or cycling cadence. Automatic recognition of everyday exercise like walking or swimming was consistently reliable, sparing me from fiddling with menus before breaking a sweat.
Performance is also seamless thanks to the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset paired with a secondary low-power processor. Apps open smoothly, navigation feels fluid, and I never felt slowed down in daily use. While many Wear OS watches share this chip, Oppo's execution feels particularly refined.
Connectivity is strong, with Bluetooth calling and Google Wallet built in. While it lacks eSIM support, I found it easy to stay connected to my phone without fuss.
For me, the focus here is less about leaving the phone behind and more about having everything blend smoothly together - and the Watch X2 nails that balance.
Battery and Charging
Battery life is another strong suit. With typical use - including always-on display and workout tracking - I averaged four days between charges, which puts it above many Wear OS competitors.
Power Saver Mode stretches that dramatically, but even in full Smart Mode it's long-lasting enough to trust for travel or busy weeks.
Charging is quick and fuss-free with Oppo's Watch VOOC Flash Charge. Ten minutes on the charger gave me enough juice to get through the day, while a full charge took just over an hour. It makes topping up before heading out an easy, stress-free habit.
Final Thoughts?
The Oppo Watch X2 has quickly become one of my favourite smartwatches to date.
Its sleek round design, especially in Lava Black, feels refined and stylish, standing in contrast to the squarer Apple Watch look.
Comfortable to wear all day and night, packed with thoughtful health tools and backed by solid battery life, it's as practical as it is elegant.
It may not be the most radical leap in smartwatch innovation, but it doesn't need to be. The Oppo Watch X2 is a beautifully balanced wearable - premium, understated, and consistently dependable.
