Intel has unveiled its Thunderbolt Share, a solution set to transform PC-to-PC interactions. The software allows users to securely share files, screens, keyboard, mouse, and storage efficiently and rapidly at the speed of Thunderbolt technology. This new innovation will benefit various groups, including creators, gamers, consumers, and businesses, maximising their use of multiple PCs and enhancing their workspace experience.

Thunderbolt Share opens up a new frontier in connectivity solutions, allowing PC-to-PC experiences that redefine users' interaction with two PCs. The software is compatible with select PCs and accessories featuring Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 ports, offering responsive screen-sharing and quick PC-to-PC file transfers. This innovation fosters more adaptable and productive workflows.

Jason Ziller, Vice President and General Manager of the Client Connectivity Division at Intel, said, “We are excited to continue to lead the industry in connectivity solutions with Thunderbolt technology. Thunderbolt Share delivers on our aspiration to bring innovative solutions to the market and deliver new experiences for users to get the most out of their PCs. Now users can seamlessly access one PC from another at Thunderbolt technology speeds. It truly changes how users can be more productive and efficient.”

Powered by the unique Thunderbolt networking capability, Thunderbolt Share enables users of multiple PCs to interact simply and efficiently. Creators and gamers can benefit significantly from improved productivity thanks to multi-PC workflows and easy collaboration with colleagues. The new software also allows the sharing of preferred peripherals. Consumers and professionals in the business sector can enjoy better ergonomics with shared monitors, maximising their workspace utilising multiple PCs. Thunderbolt technology, with its bandwidth and low latency, provides these capabilities with the quality and experience expected by users.

Compatible with Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5 PCs running the Windows operating system, Thunderbolt Share delivers smooth, uncompressed screen sharing with ultra-responsive mouse and keyboard control between PCs. Buyers will also benefit from fast file transfers between two PCs with straightforward drag-and-drop features, easy folder synchronisation, and effortless file migration from an old PC to a new PC. The software allows easy collaboration between users sharing large files while also providing a secure connection that doesn't affect Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or cloud network performance.

With Thunderbolt technology rapidly becoming a widely adopted feature in the PC marketplace, featured in a vast number of computers and accessories, including all Intel Evo Edition laptops and Intel vPro laptops, Thunderbolt Share allows PC users to further enhance their connectivity experiences. Thunderbolt Share will be offered on select PCs and accessories beginning in the second half of 2024, with upcoming announcements anticipated from various companies, including Lenovo, Acer, MSI, Razer, Kensington, Belkin, Promise, Plugable, and OWC.
