Yesterday

JBL has launched a new range of junior headphones designed specifically for young listeners, focusing on safety and comfort.

The line-up includes three sets of headphones: the wireless JBL Junior 470NC and JBL Junior 320BT, as well as the wired JBL Junior 320. Central to this range is the JBL Safe Sound feature which incorporates volume and playtime limits, alongside activity reports and countdown reminders, to ensure the audio experience is both enjoyable and safe for children.

Michael Sherman, Senior Strategy Manager at JBL, stated, "At JBL, we are committed to driving innovation and that extends to our new JBL Junior headphones, designed to bring next-generation JBL Safe Sound to those starting out on their personal audio journey. By introducing advanced parental controls through our JBL Headphones App, we're creating an audio experience that's both enjoyable and safe for young listeners."

To further support safe listening practices, JBL has enhanced parental control through the JBL Headphones app, allowing parents to set maximum volume levels and listening durations. "Keeping an eye on their listening times has never been easier," Mr Sherman explained. The app provides real-time volume and activity time indicators, with daily or weekly reports to track exposure. Active Noise Cancelling in the JBL Junior 470NC assists children in blocking out distractions while maintaining a lower volume.

The headphones are designed with portability and durability in mind. The wireless models, JBL Junior 470NC and 320BT, are both compact and foldable, featuring a multi-point connection capability for easily switching between Bluetooth devices. They promise extended entertainment with up to 50 hours of battery life, making them suitable for travel.

The new headphones are available in playful colours and come with larger child-friendly controls. The packaging for the JBL Junior 470NC and 320BT can be transformed into a stand for phones or tablets, adorned with stickers designed to inspire creativity in children.

A wired option, JBL Junior 320, is also introduced with an inbuilt volume limit of 85dB to protect children's hearing. However, the JBL Junior 320 is not compatible with the JBL Headphones App.

The JBL Junior range is aimed at children aged 3-8 years. The JBL Junior 470NC is available in three colours: Blue, Pink, and White. The JBL Junior 320BT is available in Green, Blue, and Purple. The JBL Junior 320, a wired version and comes in Purple and Blue. These headphones are available from various retailers.
