Samsung launches Galaxy A57 5G & A37 5G in Australia

Thu, 26th Mar 2026

Samsung has launched the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G in Australia, expanding its mid-range Galaxy A line with prices starting at AUD $599.

The devices will go on sale globally from April 10. The Galaxy A57 5G is priced at AUD $749 for 128GB and AUD $849 for 256GB, while the Galaxy A37 5G starts at AUD $599 for 128GB. In Australia, the A57 will be available in Awesome Lilac and Awesome Navy, and the A37 in Awesome Lavender and Awesome Charcoal.

Samsung is positioning the phones around a mix of artificial intelligence features, camera updates, software support and durability. Both run Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and are set to receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, along with up to six years of security updates.

The launch adds to competition in the mid-tier smartphone market, where manufacturers are increasingly using longer software support and AI-led tools to distinguish devices below flagship price points.

Both models include a set of tools under Samsung's "Awesome Intelligence" branding. These include Voice Transcription in the Voice Recorder app, AI Select for pulling text or content from the screen, Object Eraser for editing photos, and Circle to Search with Google for identifying multiple objects in an image.

The range also includes upgraded Bixby functions and Gemini integration for tasks across Samsung apps and some third-party apps. Some features require Samsung Account and Google Account sign-ins.

Camera focus

Camera hardware remains central to the launch. Both devices include a triple rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor, an ultra-wide lens and a 5MP macro camera, along with a 12MP front camera.

The A57 5G and A37 5G also feature improved low-light photography and video performance through updated image processing. The A57 adds extra processing changes designed to sharpen detail and reduce noise, along with a Best Face feature for group shots and Auto Trim for video editing.

Both phones have 6.7-inch screens, though the panel differs slightly between the two. The Galaxy A57 5G uses a Super AMOLED+ display, while the Galaxy A37 5G uses a Super AMOLED display. Both support refresh rates of up to 120Hz and include Vision Booster.

Design and battery

Samsung has given the A57 a thinner and lighter design than the A37. According to the specification sheet, the A57 measures 6.9mm thick and weighs 179g, compared with 7.4mm and 196g for the A37.

The A57 has a 5,000mAh battery and, depending on usage, can last up to two days. It also includes Super Fast Charging 2.0 and a larger vapour chamber than the previous model to help manage heat during gaming or video recording.

Both phones carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance under laboratory test conditions. They also include Knox security, Knox Vault, a Security & Privacy Dashboard, Auto Blocker, Private Sharing, Theft Protection and a new Private Album feature in the Gallery app.

Parental controls

Samsung is also targeting families with built-in parental controls and Samsung Kids. Through the settings menu, parents can limit access to online content, apps and media, and restrict screen time and app use.

Samsung Kids can be launched from the quick settings panel, creating a separate environment for younger users. The feature offers educational and entertainment activities on the device.

TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of Device eXperience Division at Samsung Electronics, outlined the company's positioning for the launch. "The new Galaxy A series reflects our continued commitment to AI democratisation by bringing the latest innovations to more Galaxy users," Roh said. "With Samsung's fundamental capabilities combined with enriched Awesome Intelligence, Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G will deliver reliable everyday performance to users around the world and drive rapid AI expansion."
