Samsung launches Galaxy Tab S10 Lite in Australia from AUD $599
Samsung Electronics Australia has introduced the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, a new tablet for the everyday user with a focus on entertainment, creativity and productivity.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite features a 10.9-inch display that delivers peak brightness up to 600 nits, which the company says enhances viewing in various environments both indoors and outdoors. The Vision Booster technology aims to maintain colour vibrancy and visibility under different lighting conditions.
An upgraded processor and an 8,000 mAh battery are included, with support for Super-Fast Charging. This configuration is designed for longevity, intended to support prolonged periods of use such as streaming video, studying, or multitasking.
The device arrives in Australia in three colour options: Grey, Silver (exclusive to Samsung.com), and Coralred (also exclusive to Samsung.com), with a recommended retail price starting at AUD $599 for the 6GB+128GB variant. It will be available from September 26.
Productivity tools
The Tab S10 Lite includes the S Pen in the box, which offers handwriting and drawing functionalities. Samsung's Intelligent Features are present, including tools in Samsung Notes like Handwriting Help and Solve Math, designed to organise handwritten notes and perform instant equation solutions. Users can annotate PDFs directly and export revised documents.
The tablet supports multitasking with Split View, allowing simultaneous engagement with lecture slides and notetaking, or referencing images while drawing. Additional AI integration is present via Circle to Search with Google, which is aimed at facilitating intuitive searches and translation from anywhere on the screen. For users with the Book Cover Keyboard (sold separately), the Galaxy AI Key enables quick access to AI-powered assistance during tasks.
"The new Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is designed to bring practical, everyday functionality to more people around the world," said Changtae Kim, EVP & Head of New Computing R&D Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. "We built it to be a reliable companion that empowers users to get more out of every moment, with useful features and a versatile design that fits naturally into how they jump between classes and playlists, stay productive during the day or turn downtime into creative time."
The device is compatible with a wide array of third-party applications intended to suit different workflows. Preloaded or available apps include Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, LumaFusion, Notion, Noteshelf 3, ArcSite, Sketchbook and Picsart. Promotional offers accompany some applications – Goodnotes comes with a 1-year full-version offer, Clip Studio Paint has a 6-month free trial plus a subsequent subscription discount, LumaFusion is available at 50% off until November 2026 with a complimentary 30-day Creator Pass, and Notion offers a 1-month Plus plan trial with AI features.
Hardware and specifications
Running on Android 15.0, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite measures 165.8 x 254.3 x 6.6mm and weighs 524g. Camera functions include an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Customers can choose between models with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage or 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, with both options supporting microSD external memory up to 2TB.
Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth v5.3. Audio is provided by dual 1.6W speakers.
Intelligent features and AI
Samsung states that Galaxy AI Intelligent Features are currently free, though this may be reviewed in coordination with partners in the future. Some third-party AI features may carry different terms from 2025 onwards. The tablet's AI capabilities are also accessible through supported peripherals, such as the Book Cover Keyboard, providing integration with services like Bixby and Google Gemini, dependent on device compatibility and software updates.
Handwriting Help and Solve Math functions operate on-device and do not require an active internet connection, although a Samsung Account login may be necessary. Handwriting Help currently supports a wide range of global languages, including English (Australia and United Kingdom).
