Turtle Beach unveils Mario Switch 2 controller, headset

Wed, 11th Mar 2026

Turtle Beach has added two Mario-themed accessories to its Nintendo Switch range: a new wireless controller with Mario and Luigi designs, and a wired headset with a Mario Star motif.

Both products are officially licensed by Nintendo and are aimed at players on Nintendo Switch 2 and the current Nintendo Switch. Turtle Beach timed the reveal to coincide with the MAR10 Day fan event.

Controller details

The Rematch Wireless RGB Controller: Mario & Luigi is a wireless gamepad with illuminated design elements and motion controls. It offers four RGB lighting modes and a claimed wireless range of up to 30 feet.

It uses TMR (tunnelling magnetoresistance) thumbsticks, which Turtle Beach says improve precision and durability compared with traditional designs.

Two mappable back buttons sit on the rear. The controller also includes a C button for quick access to GameChat features, although an asterisk in the product material indicates availability may vary by platform or system software.

Turtle Beach highlighted Mario franchise titles such as Mario Kart World and Super Mario Galaxy when outlining use cases. The controller is designed for play across different genres, with motion controls positioned as an option for more responsive input.

Headset features

The Airlite Fit Wired Gaming Headset - Mario Star is a wired, over-ear headset with 40mm speakers and jersey knit cushion ear pads.

It includes a flip-to-mute microphone. Turtle Beach describes the mic as noise-cancelling, and says the ear cushions are designed to reduce external sound while remaining comfortable during longer sessions.

Turtle Beach says its in-house engineers developed the headset, and positions it for both casual and competitive play.

Pricing and retail

In Australia, the Rematch Wireless RGB Controller: Mario & Luigi has an RRP of AUD $99.95. The Airlite Fit Wired Gaming Headset - Mario Star is priced at AUD $49.95.

Both products are due to arrive in Australian stores on March 31, 2026. The announcement did not include retail partners or pre-order details.

Licensing push

The devices expand Turtle Beach's catalogue of officially licensed Nintendo accessories, a crowded category where peripheral makers compete through character art, colourways, and platform-specific features. Licenced designs can also broaden appeal beyond competitive players, particularly when tied to long-running franchises such as Super Mario.

The company framed the controller and headset in a Switch 2 context, suggesting it expects continued accessory demand alongside new hardware releases. It also continues to target the existing Switch install base.

The controller features motion controls and the headset includes a flip-to-mute microphone, with both products slated for Australian retail availability at the end of March.
