Zeekr 7X makes Australian debut with rapid charging

Tue, 12th Aug 2025

Zeekr has confirmed the local pricing and specifications for the Zeekr 7X, a new mid-sized electric SUV launched in Australia.

Australian launch

The Zeekr 7X joins the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 in the Australian market later this year, offering a five-seat configuration and what the company claims is the world's first Golden Battery. This battery enables a 10% to 80% charge in as little as 13 minutes, depending on the model and charger utilised.

Three versions are available for order: the single-motor Rear-Wheel Drive model at AUD $57,900, the Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive model at AUD $63,900, and the Performance All-Wheel Drive variant at AUD $72,900. These prices exclude on-road costs.

Executive statement

Frank Li, Vice President, Zeekr International and Managing Director, Zeekr Australia, said: "We're proud to bring the Zeekr 7X to Australia, a market that's quickly embracing premium electric mobility. The Zeekr 7X delivers the kind of intelligent design, long-range confidence, and ultra-fast charging that Australian drivers are looking for."
"It's engineered for modern families but with the refinement and technology you'd expect from a premium EV. As we continue to expand our footprint across the country, the Zeekr 7X will play a central role in shaping a smarter, more sustainable mobility future for Australians."

Design and dimensions

Designed in Gothenburg, Sweden, the Zeekr 7X uses Sustainable Experience Architecture platform technology. Its exterior features clean lines, with slender LED headlights and integrated rear light clusters. Measurements include a length of 4,787mm, a height of 1,650mm, and a 2,900mm wheelbase, resulting in a 539-litre rear luggage compartment and, for the RWD model, a 62-litre front compartment.

The interior provides space comparable to a full-size SUV, with seating for up to five adults, finished with premium-grade materials. Features include electric front and rear doors, as well as heated, cooled, and massaging front seats (available on the Performance All-Wheel Drive model).

Technology and driver assistance

The Zeekr 7X is described as a software-defined vehicle. It incorporates Qualcomm's 8295 Snapdragon processor and Zeekr's third-generation human-machine interface. A standard 16-inch HD touchscreen and optional 36.2-inch augmented reality head-up display are key inclusions. The car is equipped with 12 cameras, a radar system, and a suite of driver assistance features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Front- and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Full Automatic Park Assist.

Over-the-air software updates will be delivered to maintain and expand digital functionality over time.

Performance and battery

The Rear-Wheel Drive and Long-Range variants utilise a 310kW motor with 440Nm of torque, targeting a range of up to 615km based on manufacturer estimates and the WLTP standard. The top-tier Performance All-Wheel Drive model combines two electric motors to provide 475kW and 710Nm, achieving 0-100km/h acceleration in 3.8 seconds. An off-road mode, continuous damper control, and active air suspension extend the usability of this configuration.

The Zeekr 7X supports ultra-fast charging due to its 800V system architecture. The Rear-Wheel Drive model features a 75kWh Golden Battery, while the other variants have a 100kWh battery for extended range. With a standard 22kW on-board AC charger, home charging to full capacity can take from 4.5 to 5.5 hours, depending on the variant. On a 360kW DC charger, the claimed 10-80% charging time is 13 minutes for the Rear-Wheel Drive model, or 16 minutes for the Long-Range and Performance models.

Warranty and purchase incentives

The Zeekr 7X includes a seven-year vehicle warranty and roadside assistance package as standard. The first 1,000 Australian customers receive various incentives, including a 7kW home charger, both Type 2 and mini portable charging cables, and complimentary interior and exterior colour options.

Zeekr, a division of Geely, maintains research and development operations in Sweden and China and has sold over 520,000 vehicles since October 2021. The company now counts 11 dealerships across Australia, with two models preceding the 7X in the local market.
