Thermomix TM7 wins Gold for design excellence at top awards
The Thermomix TM7 has been named a Gold Winner in the Product Design category at the Australian Good Design Awards. The accolade recognises the device's design quality and integration of technology, with judges highlighting its hardware and digital platform.
Device recognition
The Australian Good Design Awards are regarded as a significant recognition program for design, with winners determined following assessment by over 80 international jurors. The TM7, developed by the Vorwerk Group in Germany, was commended by the jury for how it integrates hardware with the Cookidoo digital recipe platform. The judges described the product as an example of system thinking, combining physical, digital, and emotional elements in a single platform.
Jury comments on the TM7 included praise for its material choices, user experience, and the alignment between its digital and physical features. They cited the device as "a standout example of design excellence", and an evolution of a product already established in the market.
Industry evaluation
All entries to the awards underwent a detailed evaluation process, with projects assessed on design quality, innovation, and impact. The TM7 was among those selected for the Gold Winner level, which is awarded to the top projects within each category. The Product Design category is noted for its competitive entries across fields spanning from household appliances to consumer electronics.
Gold Winners at the event become contenders for the Good Design Award Best in Class accolade, alongside further special honours in areas including sustainability. The 2025 selection was described by award organisers as the "highest standard" seen in recent years, with projects said to push the boundaries of design and innovation.
