Amber Technology launches Mark Levinson 600 Series

Amber Technology has launched the Mark Levinson 600 Series in Australia, bringing three audio components to the local market.

The line-up includes the No 626 Dual-Monaural Preamplifier, No 632 Dual-Monaural Amplifier and No 631 Monaural Amplifier, distributed through Amber Technology's authorised dealer network.

The release adds a new Mark Levinson range to Amber Technology's specialist hi-fi offering in Australia. The distributor already serves the broadcast, film, recording, live production, musical instruments, residential and commercial installation, and home entertainment markets.

Mark Levinson describes the 600 Series as a continuation of its long-running audio engineering work in the US. The products are designed, engineered and assembled there, and share the company's Pure Path circuit design and Tectonic industrial design.

Each unit uses an aluminium and steel chassis with a glass centre panel and red accent lighting. The components also feature mechanically isolated feet and a modular internal layout that separates key circuitry from the power supply sections.

Preamplifier

The No 626 combines balanced analogue architecture with digital processing. It includes the company's Precision Link III digital-to-analogue converter, supports digital audio resolutions up to 32-bit/384kHz, and has six digital inputs.

It also offers balanced and single-ended analogue inputs, a Pure Phono Class A moving-magnet and moving-coil phono stage, and a Main Drive Class A headphone amplifier. Its modular design isolates the analogue, digital and power supply sections.

Amplifiers

The No 632 is a dual-monaural stereo amplifier for two-channel systems. It uses a discrete signal path, Class A/AB operation, balanced and single-ended analogue inputs, and an ultra-low-noise toroidal linear power supply.

Its dual-monaural layout separates the left and right channels, while Mark Levinson Hurricane loudspeaker binding posts provide speaker connection options. The amplifier shares the same chassis design as the rest of the series.

The No 631 sits at the top of the range as a dedicated single-channel amplifier. It uses a fully differential, fully discrete architecture and includes balanced and single-ended inputs, Class A/AB operation, an ultra-low-noise toroidal linear power supply, and a selectable high-bias mode.

Both amplifiers use the same Tectonic chassis design and isolated foot structure found across the series. The No 631 is due to be available by the end of September.

Brand Context

The 600 Series joins Mark Levinson's wider portfolio under HARMAN Luxury Audio, which also includes JBL, JBL Synthesis, Revel and ARCAM. HARMAN Luxury Audio is a business unit of HARMAN International, owned by Samsung Electronics.

For Amber Technology, the launch extends its relationship with a premium audio brand as distributors compete for specialist hi-fi buyers across residential and enthusiast segments. The rollout is centred on dealer availability rather than direct sales.
